Off-road, the rear brake of the Royal Enfield Himalayan 411 does as much steering as stopping: it can lock the rear briefly to turn on a narrow trail, slow the bike on a steep, loose descent and settle it in deep gravel. Accossato lists rear pad AGPP91 for the Himalayan 411 from 2019 to 2023 in Off-road sintered, its compound for off-road riders. It is designed for mud, dust and river crossings on long trail days.

Construction and Material Quality
Accossato describes STMX simply as its compound for off-road riders. It is designed for use where dirt, grit and water are an everyday part of braking, which applies to the rear caliper of a Himalayan 411 on trails more than any other part of the brake system. The compound also shares Accossato's goals of long wear, limited fading and a strong stopping effect.
Steering With the Rear Brake
On a narrow switchback trail, a brief lock of the rear wheel helps the Himalayan 411 to pivot around the turn. On steep, loose descents, riders often rely more on the rear brake, using the front only lightly. For both techniques, the rear pad must respond predictably when dusty or wet.
Deep ruts and wet clay also demand careful rear-brake control to keep the bike straight.
Trail-Day Maintenance
The rear caliper collects more dirt than the front. After a day on the trails, wash it thoroughly, remove any small stones from around the pads and check the disc for scoring. Drying mud can cause the pads to stick, so clean the brake before parking the bike for a long time.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato lists AGPP91 for the rear of the Royal Enfield Himalayan 411 from the 2019 to the 2023 model year. AGPA29 is the Accossato front pad for the same bike. Always replace the rear pads as a pair and clean the piston carefully before pushing it back.
Road Approval
As no ABE or German approval papers exist for AGPP91STMX in our records, it is available for competition use.
