Of all the Moto Guzzi models on this plate's list, the Stelvio 1200 is the one most likely to see a real gravel road. Owners take it down forest tracks, across dusty plateaus and through shallow fords, and the rear brake takes the worst of the dirt. Accossato's AGPA29 rear pad in the Off-road sintered (STMX) compound is made for exactly those conditions. The catalogue lists it for the Stelvio 1200 NTZ from 2009 to 2011 and the Stelvio 1200 8V SE from 2012 to 2019.

Construction and Material Quality
Accossato calls STMX its compound for off-road riders. It is made for rear brakes that are regularly coated in mud, grit or sand and need to keep gripping through that layer. On a Stelvio 1200 used on unsealed roads, the rear brake is often the main brake on loose surfaces, where the front must be used carefully. A pad that copes with dirt makes that job easier. Accossato also cites low wear and good fade resistance.
Forest Tracks and Fords
On gravel, experienced riders use the rear brake more than the front, especially on descents. That puts the rear pad to work in the dirtiest conditions. After a muddy day or a ford crossing, rinse the caliper with plain water and check that no stones are stuck between pad and disc. When the pads come out, clean the pistons thoroughly before pushing them back.
For tarmac-only riding, the OR, ST and EV1 versions of AGPA29 are the better choices.
Fitment and Compatibility
Our data covers the rear of the older Stelvio only: NTZ from 2009 to 2011 and 8V SE from 2012 to 2019, both with a single rear caliper that takes one box. Owners of a V100 Stelvio should look for the right rear code elsewhere. Up front, the Stelvio 1200 runs on Accossato AGPA96 pads, and there is a matching Accossato disc, DKS032. Before the first dirt road, give the fresh linings a few firm stops on tarmac so they bed into the disc evenly.
