Accossato's off-road rear mixture is listed for the Moto Guzzi Norge 1200 too. The Norge is a tarmac tourer, but long trips often end on an unpaved road to a campsite, a farm guesthouse or a mountain hut, and some owners live where dusty lanes are part of every journey. For them the Off-road sintered (STMX) version of the AGPA29 rear pad is worth a thought, because it is made for brakes that get covered in dirt. Accossato lists this rear pad for the Norge from 2006 to 2019.

Construction and Material Quality
Accossato describes STMX as its compound for off-road riding. It is designed for bikes whose rear brake is regularly coated in dust, mud or sand, and it is meant to keep gripping when grit reaches the disc. On a touring Norge that sees the occasional gravel track, this makes the rear brake less sensitive to dirt. Accossato also claims low wear, controlled heat and resistance to fade for its pads.
Unpaved Final Miles
Many touring destinations are reached by a gravel road: a lakeside campsite, a remote hotel, a farm with rooms. On such tracks the rear brake is used gently and often, while dust drifts onto the caliper. The STMX pad is designed to cope with that. For pure tarmac riding, the OR, ST and EV1 versions of AGPA29 are more suitable.
Dust that settles around the caliper during a stay at a gravel-road campsite should be rinsed off with plain water before it can work its way behind the piston seals; check the Norge's rear lining when you are home again.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato lists AGPA29 for the Norge 1200 from 2006 to 2014, the Norge 1200 GT from 2010 to 2019 and the Norge 1200 GT 8V from 2010 to 2013. The rear caliper needs one box. Our sheet does not list any other Accossato pad or disc for the Norge. After fitting, pump the pedal until firm and bed the pads in on a clean road surface.
Road Approval
We have not received a German ABE or any other approval for this rear pad, so it is offered for track and competition use.
