DescriptionThe whole story▼
Mud does not spare the rear caliper any more than it does the front, and Accossato's dedicated off-road compound, Off-road sintered (STMX), is built for this rear pad on the KTM 450SX-F across its full 2003 to 2026 production run just as much as for the matching front set. Where OR and ST are built with firmer surfaces more in mind, this is the mixture built specifically around the loose, changing ground a motocross track actually offers.
Key Features
- STMX compound for the KTM 450SX-F rear caliper, built for off-road use
- Listed by Accossato across the 2003 to 2026 production run
- A mixture the maker builds specifically for off-road riders
- Suited to mud, sand, dust and loose, changing track surfaces
- Matched to the constant, corner-to-corner use of a rear brake off-road
- OR and ST rear compounds exist for the same caliper
- Two pads per box, enough for one rear caliper
Construction and Material Quality
Accossato separates this STMX mixture from its road-leaning OR and ST options, building it specifically around the abrasive, gritty conditions dirt and mud create rather than clean rain on tarmac. A rear caliper on a motocross bike picks up roost and dust from the very first lap, and a compound that keeps biting through that build-up, rather than one calibrated for a clean disc, is what this pad is built to deliver.
A Pad That Expects to Get Dirty
There is no realistic way to keep a 450SX-F's rear disc clean through a race or even a single lap of serious practice, and this STMX pad is built around that fact rather than against it. Cleaning the caliper properly after every session still helps the compound perform consistently from one outing to the next, but the pad itself is designed from the outset to keep working even when the track has already done its very worst to it.
Fitment and Compatibility
This STMX rear pad is listed by Accossato for the KTM 450SX-F across the 2003 to 2026 production run; check your exact model year against the maker's reference given how long that span is. OR and ST remain the firmer, road-leaning alternatives for this same rear caliper, better suited to drier, generally less demanding track conditions.
Road Approval
No approval paperwork, such as a German ABE or a type approval mark, is available to us for this pad, so it is listed for racing and competition use. The 450SX-F is a closed-course machine and is not intended for public roads.
Scope of Delivery
Two brake pads in the box, one set for a single rear caliper. No mounting pins, springs or other hardware are included in the package.
