Even the road-biased KTM 1190 Adventure of 2013 to 2016 gets taken off the tarmac, onto forest roads, gravel passes and desert tracks. For those rides Accossato offers this rear pad in STMX, the company's compound for off-road riders. On loose ground the rear brake is the main speed control, used constantly in dust, mud and water, and STMX is designed for that environment.

Construction and Material Quality
Accossato does not say much about this mixture beyond naming it as the choice for off-road riding, and we will not fill the gap with guesses. The company's broad promises for its pads still count: gradual wear, dependable retardation and a friction layer that resists fading as it slowly warms. For a heavy 1190 descending a loose, stony pass in Morocco or the Pyrenees, those promises meet dust, water and grit rather than a clean circuit.
Rear Brake Control on Loose Ground
On a steep gravel descent, an adventure rider uses the rear brake to hold the 1190 at a steady speed and touches the front only gently. Splashes from puddles and fords, dust from dry tracks and mud from forest roads all reach the rear caliper. STMX is intended for exactly that environment. For tarmac touring, Accossato's OR and ST rear pads are more suitable, and EV1 is for sporty road riding.
After a Day on the Trails
Rinse the rear caliper and disc with clean water after an off-road day, keeping pressure washers away from the seals. Check for grit trapped between the pads and caliper, and inspect the disc for grooves.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato lists rear pad AGPA29 for the KTM 1190 Adventure from 2013 to 2016; one box covers the rear caliper. The front pad for this bike, AGPA96, is not offered in STMX. Clean the pistons thoroughly before retracting them and pump the pedal until it is firm.
Road Approval
No test certificate or approval mark is available for this compound, so we offer it in Germany for racing and competition.
