DescriptionThe whole story▼
Some Kawasaki KLX 250 owners use the bike as a proper trail machine, riding through muddy forest tracks, sandy paths and shallow streams at the weekend. For them Accossato makes the AGPP90 rear pad in its Off-road sintered mixture, coded STMX. It fits the KLX 250 family from 1998 to 2021 and is designed for riders who spend their free time off the tarmac and need a rear brake built for dirt.

Construction and Material Quality
Accossato presents STMX simply as its compound for off-road riders, and we do not add further technical claims. What the company says about all its pads applies too: slow wear, fade resistance thanks to limited heat build-up and strong stopping force. On a KLX 250 used on trails, the rear brake works in dirt, water and grit, which is the environment this compound is intended for. It is bonded to the AGPP90 plate.
Mud, Sand and Water Crossings
On a muddy forest trail, the rear brake of a KLX 250 is often more useful than the front. Riders use it to control speed on descents, to slide the rear round a tight turn and to slow gently on slippery ground. A compound made for off-road use is designed to keep working when the caliper is caked in mud.
Sand and fine dust are abrasive, and water crossings wash grit into the caliper. After a day on the trails, hose off the bike, paying attention to the rear caliper, and check that the pads move freely. Look at the disc for deep scoring caused by trapped grit.
Before the next ride, check the pad depth, since off-road use can wear pads faster than road riding. Clean the piston before pushing it back during a pad change and pump the pedal until firm.
Fitment and Compatibility
Model years 1998 to 2021 of the KLX 250 take AGPP90 at the back, according to Accossato; its list mentions the base KLX 250, the dual-purpose S and the SF. Trail riders with a 2009 or newer bike will find AGPA76 as the matching front part. There is one rear caliper, so one box of STMX pads is needed.
Road Approval
We have no ABE or German test certificate for AGPP90STMX. The pads are sold for off-road competition use.
Scope of Delivery
