DescriptionThe whole story▼

A Scrambler Icon is a road motorcycle with off-road styling, and a good many owners eventually discover what the styling implies by riding down a byway. A weekend of green lanes on road tyres is slow, careful work: wet clay, a ford or two, and a rear brake that is never quite clean again. Accossato presses the AGPP91 in the Off-road sintered material as article AGPP91STMX, the version it makes for riders who go beyond tarmac. The rear listing covers 2015 to 2026.

Key Features

  • Rear pads for the Ducati Scrambler Icon, 2015 to 2026
  • AGPP91STMX: the AGPP91 shape in Accossato's dirt material
  • Made for riding off the tarmac rather than for the daily commute
  • For mud, clay, water crossings and what they leave behind
  • The Icon Dark from 2020 belongs to the same entry
  • Two pads in the box, one rear caliper's set
  • The identical shape is also pressed in OR and ST
  • No German ABE on file; competition use

Construction and Material Quality

The brief Accossato gives this version is a place rather than a property: it is the material the firm presses for riders who leave the road. Water and mud are the conditions that matter. A rear brake which has just come through a ford has to clear itself and start working again promptly, and it has to manage that repeatedly through the day rather than once. The plate is the same AGPP91 the road versions use, so a set can go in for a weekend and come out on Monday. High stopping power is the general claim the firm makes for its pads; on a slippery lane, though, what the rider wants from the pedal is control rather than force.

A Byway, a Ford and a Lot of Clay

Green lanes on a road-biased machine demand patience. The tyres are the limit rather than the engine, and the rear brake becomes the main tool for holding the bike to a speed the front wheel can live with. Clay packs into everything, water hides the depth of a rut, and the pedal is used in small repeated doses for hours. A Scrambler Icon will do all of it perfectly happily; it simply comes home filthy.

The clean-up matters more than the ride did. Get the mud off while it is soft, with plenty of water and no great pressure, paying attention to the caliper mouth where clay collects. Look over both friction faces and the disc before the next outing. Water crossings find their way past tired seals, so check the fluid, and give the pedal a few solid presses to be sure of it before the Scrambler Icon goes back on the road.

Fitment and Compatibility

Accossato dates the rear pad for the Icon from 2015 to 2026, the Icon Dark included from 2020, which matches the front article season for season. The bike has a single rear caliper and a box holds exactly one caliper's set. Forward of it the AGPA177 covers the front wheel, and the catalogue lists the DK008 and the DKS074 as the discs for this model. A dirt compound adds no years to an application, so a Scrambler of another type still wants looking up on its own line.

Road Approval

No ABE and no German test document for the AGPP91STMX exists in our records, so these pads are sold for competition and closed courses only.

Scope of Delivery

One box holding two AGPP91 pads in the Off-road sintered material, the set for the single rear caliper of a Scrambler Icon.
