DescriptionThe whole story▼
This article number is the odd one in the AGPP91 family, and there is no point pretending otherwise. Off-road sintered is Accossato's material for riders who work in mud, sand and dust, and it reaches the BMW M1000R only because the pad outline is shared right across the range. The listing runs from 2023 to 2026 and covers the rear wheel. If you have come here looking for a rear pad for road use on the M1000R, the OR and ST versions of the same outline are the ones drawn for that job.
Key Features
- Rear brake pads for the BMW M1000R, model years 2023 to 2026
- AGPP91STMX: the AGPP91 outline in the Off-road sintered (STMX) material
- Accossato presents the mixture as its compound for riders who go off the tarmac
- Two pads in the box, one rear caliper's set
- A single rear caliper on this bike, so one box per change
- The identical outline is also offered in the OR and ST materials for road duty
- Front pads for the M1000R are the AGPA291 from 2023 and the AGPA884 from 2024
- No German ABE on record; competition use away from public roads
Construction and Material Quality
A mixture developed for dirt has a different job description from one meant for tarmac. Mud, sand and water sit between pad and disc for much of a lap, so the material has to keep working while it is being scoured and to recover the moment the surfaces are clean again. Accossato presents the STMX variant as its answer for riders who leave the tarmac and leaves the description there. On the M1000R the mechanical side is unchanged: the same plate, the same outline, the same pair of pads in a box for one caliper. Only the friction layer, and the world it was drawn for, are different.
Where This Material Belongs
An enduro or motocross rear brake spends its life under attack. The rider crosses a stream, the disc is doused and then immediately caked in sand, and a moment later the pedal is wanted on a rutted descent. Between motos the machine meets a pressure washer and the whole cycle begins again. That is the world the STMX mixture comes from, and it explains where its priorities lie. The BMW M1000R does not live in that world. This is not the pad we would put on a road-going naked bike for daily use, simply because it was drawn around another surface, and it appears in the M1000R listing because the outline fits. Riders who want it will know why; anyone else should look at the two road materials offered on the same plate.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato lists the AGPP91 outline for the rear wheel of the M 1000 R from 2023 to 2026, and this article number is that outline with the dirt mixture on it. One caliper sits at the rear, so a change takes a single box and both pads at once. Before fitting, clean the caliper thoroughly, because grit carried in from a dirty surface does more damage to pistons and seals than the pads ever will. The front of the bike is covered by the AGPA291 from 2023 and, a year later, by the AGPA884.
Road Approval
No ABE and no test certificate exist in our files for the AGPP91STMX. Given the purpose of the material that is hardly a surprise; we sell it for competition and for riding away from public roads.
Scope of Delivery
Two AGPP91 pads in the STMX material, boxed as the complete set for one rear caliper.
