DescriptionThe whole story▼
An enduro day on an F800GS is a long one. Sand tracks that drag at the front wheel, a river crossing where the water comes over the boots, ruts left by something with four-wheel drive: the bike handles all of it, and the rear brake is the control the rider actually uses out there. Accossato mixes its off-road sintered (STMX) material for those surfaces, and the AGPP91 pad in that compound is catalogued for the BMW F800GS from 2008 to 2018.
Key Features
- AGPP91STMX rear pads in Accossato's off-road compound
- BMW F800GS, model years 2008 to 2018, rear wheel
- Made for riders who take the bike well away from sealed roads
- Intended for sand, water and mud rather than for daily road use
- Two pads per box, the content of one rear caliper
- Road-going materials in this shape are listed separately
- Front wheel of this bike: the AGPA92 pad, 2008 to 2018
- No approval papers available; for off-road and competition riding
Construction and Material Quality
This is the version of the AGPP91 that Accossato points away from tarmac. The company describes it as its compound for off-road riders and leaves it there, which tells you about the intended use rather than about the recipe, and we prefer that to inventing detail. The conditions behind that sentence are clear enough: an abrasive suspension of sand and water circulating around the caliper, long periods of moderate pressure instead of short hard stops, and a wheel that is frequently sliding on purpose. Strong stopping power is what Accossato claims across its pad range, and here it is asked for where grip is scarce. The box holds the two pads one caliper takes.
Sand, a Ford and the Ride Home
Standing on the pegs changes how the rear brake is operated. The boot reaches the pedal from above rather than from the side, the ankle has less feel through a stiff sole, and a rider in that position tends to apply more than intended, which is fine on sand and less welcome on a hard-packed track. Practising the pressure on an easy stretch is time well spent. Water needs its own routine: after a crossing, ride on gently with the pedal lightly applied so the surfaces dry each other, and do not assume full effect until you have tested it once at a safe speed. When the day is over, wash the mud off before it hardens, let the bike dry properly and then look at the pads, because sand can take a surprising amount of material off in a single outing.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato lists this rear pad for the BMW F800GS of 2008 to 2018, one box being all the rear wheel requires. Riders heading somewhere remote often pack a second set, since off-road use consumes friction material at a rate that no road journey matches. The front wheel of the same machine is covered by the AGPA92 pad across those years. If your F800GS mostly sees tarmac with an occasional gravel drive, the road materials in this outline will serve better, and no Accossato disc exists for this bike.
Road Approval
An approval document for the AGPP91STMX has never been supplied to us and no German ABE covers it. We sell the pad for off-road riding and competition, exactly as Accossato intends it to be used.
Scope of Delivery
Two AGPP91 pads in the STMX compound, packed as the set for a single rear caliper.
