DescriptionThe whole story▼
Nothing on an enduro bike collects filth like the rear caliper. It sits behind the wheel, low and unprotected, and everything the tyre picks up is delivered straight to it. For a Beta RR 125 2T entered in a race on soft ground, that is the working environment of the rear pads from the first lap to the last. Accossato presses the AGPP106 in its Off-road sintered (STMX) material for riders who ask for exactly that, and lists the shape for the RR 125 of 2018 and 2019.
Key Features
- Rear pads for the Beta RR 125 2T, 2018 and 2019
- Article number AGPP106STMX: the AGPP106 shape in Accossato's STMX material
- Accossato's compound for riders whose ground is dirt rather than tarmac
- Intended for races, enduro days, mud, sand and water
- Two pads in the box, the set the rear caliper takes
- The same shape also comes in the OR and ST materials
- Front wheel of this Beta: AGPA51, model years 2018 and 2019
- No German ABE held here; sold for competition and off-road riding
Construction and Material Quality
Accossato offers the STMX material to one group of customers in particular, the riders who spend their time away from surfaced roads, and says little more about it than that. The reason a separate mixture exists at all becomes obvious the first time a rear caliper is stripped after a wet race. Sand and clay work their way into every gap and act on the friction face like a file. This material goes into the AGPP106 outline that fits the rear of the RR 125 2T, so fitting changes nothing in the workshop routine.
Race Day on Soft Ground
A special test on churned ground is decided as much by the back wheel as the front. The rider holds the pedal down through ruts to keep the bike straight, uses it to pivot round a tight turn between trees, and drags it on every descent, all while the caliper is full of whatever the course is made of. Material disappears quickly in those hours, and unevenly, and a rider who has raced a full season on a RR 125 2T will have seen more of the inside of the rear caliper than most road riders ever do.
Between tests, the clean-up is part of the riding. Get water onto the back of the bike while the mud is soft, direct it across the caliper instead of straight at the seals, and give the pedal a few presses afterwards to restore a firm feel. Look at the wear on both pads while the wheel is out, clear the gap between pad and disc of packed earth, and clean the pistons before pushing them back. Grit left in place is what seizes a caliper over the winter, long after the race is forgotten.
Fitment and Compatibility
The years to match are 2018 and 2019, and the machine is the Beta RR 125; Accossato offers this rear pad for nothing else. Order one box per caliper and renew the pair together, since a caliper with one fresh pad and one worn pad pushes unevenly. Anyone doing both ends at once will want the AGPA51 for the front of the same bike, listed for the same two seasons. No Accossato brake disc exists for the RR 125 2T, so the original disc stays in service.
Road Approval
There is no German ABE for the AGPP106STMX and no test file to show. Its place is at enduro events and on closed ground, not on the public road.
Scope of Delivery
