Deep sand, river crossings and muddy trails are where a Yamaha XT660Z TENERE, built from 2008 to 2015 and with ABS from 2011, shows its off-road roots. For owners who ride that terrain, Accossato offers the AGPA29 front pad in its Off-road sintered compound, SKU AGPA29STMX. It is aimed at riders who spend whole days on dirt, whether on an enduro tour, a desert rally-style trip or rough trails at home, and who need a front pad that copes with grit, water and dust.

Construction and Material Quality
Accossato designs the STMX compound for off-road riding, and it is the version of AGPA29 meant for dirt. The company describes its pads in general as slow-wearing, fade-resistant through limited heating and strong in stopping power. We add nothing about the materials. Accossato won an Enduro world title in 1985, and off-road riding has been part of its history since.
A Day on the Trails
A long day off-road on an XT660Z TENERE may include a sandy riverbed, a muddy climb through a forest and a dusty descent. Grit gets into everything, and the front brake needs to keep working through it. The STMX pad is chosen for that environment. After the ride, rinse the calipers with low-pressure water, let them dry and check the pad thickness, because abrasive dirt speeds up wear. For road-only riders, OR or ST is more suitable; EV1 serves riders who like fast tarmac.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato lists AGPA29 for the front of the Yamaha XT660Z TENERE from 2008 to 2015, and for the ABS version from 2011 to 2015. The front uses two discs and two calipers, so two boxes are needed. For the rear of the XT660Z TENERE, Accossato offers AGPP91, including in STMX, and it lists the discs DK077 and DKS073. Clean mud from the caliper and pistons before pushing them back, and check that the pistons move freely.
Road Approval
No ABE or approval certificate is available to us for this pad. It is sold for racing and competition use.
