DescriptionThe whole story▼
Race-day motocross is dirty work, and the front caliper of a KTM 250 SX-F takes a full load of roost from the bikes ahead. Accossato makes the AGPA29 front pad in its Off-road sintered mixture, code STMX, and lists it for the 250 SX-F from 2005 to 2026. This is the brand's compound for off-road riders, and it suits racers who ride in packs through clay and sand, where the caliper is filled with grit by the second lap and cleaning is part of every evening.
Key Features
- Front pad set AGPA29 for the KTM 250 SX-F, 2005 to 2026
- STMX mixture, SKU AGPA29STMX
- Accossato's compound designed for off-road riding
- Intended for clay, sand and the grit thrown up in traffic
- Drops into the standard AGPA29 caliper layout
- Other compounds on the same plate: OR, ST and EV1
- No German ABE in our records; for competition
Construction and Material Quality
Accossato introduces STMX simply as its compound for off-road riders. The company won an Enduro World Championship title in 1985, so dirt-bike braking is familiar ground. The lining is fitted to the usual AGPA29 plate, and the brand's general claims of long life, reduced fading and strong stopping apply to this pad as well.
Racing in the Pack
The first few laps of a moto are ridden in traffic, and the rider behind collects everything the rider in front throws up. Clods of clay and wet sand hit the fork and caliper constantly, and a brake that loses bite once it is coated in that mess is a liability when you need to stop for a jump face or a sudden crash ahead. An off-road compound is designed to keep working in that paste of dirt and water.
Once the racing is done, clean the bike methodically. Rinse the caliper at low pressure, dry it, and check that the pads move freely. Lining depth should be checked before each race day, and the pistons should be clean before you press them back for new pads.
Fitment and Compatibility
We offer AGPA29 for the front brake of the KTM 250 SX-F in the years 2005 to 2026. Accossato's catalogue covers the SX-F 250 over a longer span, so owners of other years should compare the pad shape. The rear partner is AGPP80, and discs DK017, DK018 and DK259 are also listed for this bike. The 250 SX-F uses one front caliper.
Road Approval
We do not hold an ABE or German test certificate for AGPA29STMX; it is sold for off-road racing.
Scope of Delivery
Box containing two STMX AGPA29 pads, one caliper's worth.
