DescriptionThe whole story▼
There is a moment after a mud hole when nobody knows what the front brake will do. The wheel of a GasGas MC 250F of 2021 to 2026 comes out of the wallow carrying half of it, the disc is coated, and the first squeeze of the lever is as much a question as a command. Accossato presses the AGPA29 front plate in its Off-road sintered material, article AGPA29STMX, and offers the mixture to riders whose track is more often soft than solid, which on a British winter calendar is most of it.
Key Features
- Front brake pads for the GasGas MC 250F of 2021 to 2026
- Article AGPA29STMX: the AGPA29 front plate with the STMX material
- The version Accossato addresses to riders working off the road
- For mud holes, standing water and heavily watered surfaces
- The four-stroke MC 250F, listed by Accossato as MC 250 F
- A single front caliper, filled by the two plates supplied
- OR, ST and EV1 cover the same carrier for other uses
- No ABE on record here; the article is sold for competition
Construction and Material Quality
By naming an audience rather than a property, Accossato says something a rider can act on. A front brake in deep mud spends its day clearing a film before it can do any work, and the material that meets the disc is whatever the last corner deposited there. Pads shaped around that reality are solving a different problem from pads shaped around a clean, dry rotor. The plate is the AGPA29 carrier used by every version of the article, so the only thing a rider changes when moving to this version is the surface that touches the steel.
What Happens in the First Squeeze
Coming out of a wallow, experienced riders use the lever early and lightly rather than waiting until they need it. That first application scrapes the film off both faces and tells the rider what is available before the corner asks for a commitment. Leaving it until the last moment means discovering the answer at the worst possible point, and on a four-stroke the engine will not help much, because the front wheel is where the stopping has to come from.
Mud also hides wear. A caliper packed with clay looks full when it is nearly empty, and a plate worn close to its backing can go unnoticed until the lever comes back to the bar. After a wet meeting, clear the caliper mouth properly and look at the plates in daylight. Rinse with a soft flow instead of a jet so that grit is not driven past the piston seal, then dry the brake by riding slowly and using it, not by leaving it to stand.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato covers the front of the MC 250F with the AGPA29 for the seasons 2021 to 2026 and writes the model as MC 250 F. The rear caliper of the same bike takes the AGPP80 over the identical span, so the two ends carry different article numbers with the same years. The catalogue holds no disc for this GasGas. One box completes the single front caliper, and the plate that comes out is the surest guide where a machine has had a hard racing life.
Road Approval
We hold no ABE for the AGPA29STMX and no German inspection paperwork, so the set goes out for off-road and competition riding.
Scope of Delivery
A box with two AGPA29 pads in the Off-road sintered material, the set for one front caliper.
