DescriptionThe whole story▼
This nickel-plated 17 mm master cylinder is built for the same calliper setups as its black anodised sibling, those with a disc distance of 32 mm or less, and keeps the PRS pivot distance adjustable between 17, 18 and 19 mm. The Shark Design body is finished in nickel plating rather than anodised black, and the folding lever supplied is black, in a long or short reach, rather than the seven-colour choice offered on the anodised version. An integrated micro-switch again handles the brake light.
Key Features
- 17 mm piston diameter, suggested for calipers set at 32 mm disc distance or less
- PRS pivot distance adjustable between 17, 18 and 19 mm with no extra tool needed
- Nickel-plated aluminium body in Accossato's Shark Design
- Black folding lever, short or long reach, with a lightening eyelet (RST)
- Offset riser with a quick-release jumper that also reduces master cylinder movement
- Integrated micro-switch for the brake light, built in without adding weight
- Stainless steel mounting screws and a zinc-plated bleed valve
- Seals manufactured from Formula 1 compound material
Construction and Material Quality
The nickel plating on this 17 mm unit covers the same Shark Design body used on the black anodised version, and the Ready To Brake shaping underneath, which cuts the passive stroke across every pivot setting, is identical regardless of the surface finish chosen. A quick-release jumper on the off-set riser speeds up servicing and limits movement of the body under hard braking, while stainless steel mounting screws, a zinc-plated bleed valve and Formula 1 compound seals match the specification used throughout this piston size. The integrated micro-switch adds no meaningful weight to the finished unit.
A Calliper-Specific Piston, Finished in Nickel
Accossato positions the 17 mm piston on this nickel-plated unit for callipers set up with a disc distance of 32 mm or less, the same guidance given for the black anodised version, and the PRS pivot distance moves across the same 17, 18 and 19 mm range on both finishes. Where they differ is the lever and the body surface: here the lever stays black and the body is nickel-plated rather than anodised, so the nickel finish is the visual choice rather than a wider colour range at the lever.
Fitment and Compatibility
No named-vehicle list applies to this 17 mm master cylinder: Accossato builds it around a calliper's disc distance rather than a specific model, fitting anything running 32 mm or less. That makes three checks essential before ordering: handlebar diameter (22 mm on standard bars), the calliper's actual disc distance, and whether the 17 mm piston matches your system's fluid volume. The black anodised body carrying this same piston size is its own listing.
Road Approval
This master cylinder is not supplied with German road-approval documentation; it is intended for track and competition use.
Scope of Delivery
