This Accossato radial brake master cylinder is machined from aluminium and left in its natural anodised finish, showing the bare metal rather than a plated or painted surface. The 15 mm piston is Accossato's suggestion for naked and motard bikes, and it works through a PRS pivot distance that is adjustable between 17, 18 and 19 mm, so the lever ratio can be set for the situation rather than fixed from the factory. The folding lever is offered with a lightening eyelet (RST) or without it (NRST), in a short or long reach, giving riders of naked and motard machines a brake unit they can tailor to their hand and riding style.

Construction and Material Quality
Accossato machines this master cylinder from a solid block of aluminium and then anodises it in its natural, uncoloured finish, which leaves the metal's own texture visible once the unit is mounted rather than hiding it under paint or plating. The fastenings are stainless steel, the bleed valve is zinc-plated steel, and the internal seals are made from Formula 1 compound, chosen to cope with heat cycling and continuous exposure to brake fluid. An off-set riser built into the mounting clamp reduces bending of the body under hard braking, and the bore is shaped so the passive stroke, the lever travel before the pads actually bite, is cut by more than half against a standard radial master cylinder.
Adjusting the PRS Pivot Distance in Practice
Because this natural anodised unit has a PRS pivot distance, the rider can move the lever's pumping axis between 17, 18 and 19 mm settings rather than being locked into a single ratio, a feature Accossato pitches as suitable for all types of use. Moving to the longer 19 mm setting shortens the lever stroke and sharpens the bite at the cost of a touch more hand pressure, while the shorter 17 mm setting does the opposite, giving a longer, gentler pull; 18 mm sits between the two. Combined with the 15 mm piston recommended for naked and motard machines, this gives a rider the ability to match the master cylinder's feel to track days, commuting or everything in between without swapping parts, with the natural anodised finish simply leaving the aluminium visible rather than affecting how any of that adjustment works.
