DescriptionThe whole story▼
From 2018 the Yamaha Tracer 900 GT was the better-equipped version of Yamaha's sport tourer, bought by riders who cover distance and, quite often, by riders who have been at it long enough to want to get quicker rather than faster. That ambition leads people to instruction days, and the most useful part of such a day is usually the session spent behind somebody who knows the circuit. Accossato lists the Tracer 900 GT from 2018 to 2024 for the FC124, a quick-release fuel tank cap machined from aluminium.
Key Features
- Quick-release fuel tank cap for the Yamaha Tracer 900 GT, 2018 to 2024
- Accossato also lists an ABS version for 2023 and 2024
- Made completely of CNC-machined aluminium
- Quick-closing pawl for opening and closing the tank
- Pin in blue, green, black, red, silver or gold
- Pawl available separately if it is ever damaged
- Compare your machine with the application list first
- No German ABE documented; track use
Construction and Material Quality
Cut from aluminium on CNC machinery and nothing else, this cap is described by its maker as robust and durable, and its shape is a new one. The mechanism is the quick-closing pawl: the Tracer 900 GT's tank opens with a single action and closes the same way, with no key to find in a jacket pocket. The pin held in the pawl is where the six colours come in, chosen as you order. Accossato lists that pawl as an individual spare, so the cap survives the sort of knock that a busy paddock produces sooner or later.
Following a Faster Rider
Being led round a circuit by somebody quicker is worth more than a morning of advice. You see where they brake, how early they open the throttle and how little they move about compared with what you imagined. Three laps of that will change your day. What it also does is use fuel, because you will be riding harder than you would alone and concentrating too much to notice. Instructors know this and usually plan the sessions around it. Come in when you are asked to, get the Tracer 900 GT onto its stand, fill it while you talk through what you have just seen, and be ready when the group goes out again rather than still working at the machine.
Fitment and Compatibility
This listing covers the Tracer 900 GT from 2018 to 2024, together with the ABS entry Accossato gives for 2023 and 2024. Other Tracer versions are listed on their own lines. The same FC124 is catalogued at Inter-Pace for the MT-09, the MT-10 and the FJR1300. Check your machine against the application list before you order.
Road Approval
Accossato records no German ABE and no parts certificate for the FC124, so it is sold for closed circuits. On the road the Tracer 900 GT keeps its factory cap, which normally opens with the ignition key.
Scope of Delivery
