Yamaha introduced the MT-09 SP in 2018 as the considered version of its three-cylinder naked machine, put together for riders who intended to use it properly rather than look at it. Accossato gives the SP its own line on the application list, running to 2023, and offers the FC124 for it. That part is a quick-release fuel tank cap machined from aluminium, closing with a pawl whose pin can be had in six colours.

Construction and Material Quality
Solid aluminium and a CNC machine are the whole of the process here, and the firm describes what comes out of it as robust and durable, with a design of its own. On the MT-09 SP the practical element is the quick-closing pawl, which shortens the moment when the tank stands open to about as long as the pouring takes. Colour lives in the pin inside that pawl, six shades to pick from, decided when the order is placed. Should it ever be damaged, Accossato supplies the pawl separately and the cap stays in service.
Buying the Version You Will Actually Use
There is a particular kind of buyer who chooses the better-equipped version of a model and then rides it hard enough to justify the decision. They are easy to spot in a paddock: the bike is clean but not precious, the tyres are worn evenly, and the owner knows what has been adjusted and when. Parts bought for such a machine tend to be chosen on the same basis. Does it do something? Can it be maintained? Will it still be available in a few years? A cap that opens with one hand between sessions answers the first question, and one whose moving part can be reordered on its own answers the other two. Fitment and Compatibility
This product follows Accossato's entry for the MT-09 900 SP, covering 2018 to 2023. The standard MT-09 is listed separately for the same cap. At Inter-Pace the FC124 is also catalogued for the MT-10 SP and the FJR1300. Check the application list before you order if you are unsure which line applies to your machine.
Road Approval
Accossato documents neither a German ABE nor a parts certificate for this cap, which keeps it to closed courses. For public roads the MT-09 SP should wear its standard cap, which normally locks with the ignition key.
