DescriptionThe whole story▼
The Yamaha MT-07 Y-AMT takes a familiar twin and removes the clutch lever and the gear pedal, leaving the rider with an automated gearbox and one less thing to think about. Accossato lists it for 2025 and 2026 under the FC124, a quick-release fuel tank cap machined from aluminium with the pawl in a choice of six colours. A machine that simplifies one part of riding invites the same treatment elsewhere, and the routine around refuelling is an obvious candidate.
Key Features
- Quick-release fuel tank cap for the Yamaha MT-07 Y-AMT, 2025 and 2026
- Machined from aluminium on CNC equipment
- Quick-closing pawl for opening and closing the tank
- Six colours for the pin: blue, green, black, red, silver, gold
- Pawl available as a separate spare
- New design by Accossato
- Confirm the fit against the application list
- No German ABE documented; supplied for track use
Construction and Material Quality
The cap is aluminium and only aluminium, machined on CNC equipment, which is what Accossato relies on when it calls the part robust and durable; the design is new. Its quick-closing pawl replaces the turning and aligning of a conventional fitting, so the Y-AMT's tank opens in one movement. Colour comes from the pin inside the pawl, chosen from six shades when you order, and that pawl is listed as a spare in its own right, so damage to it does not put the cap out of use.
Riding Without a Clutch Lever
An automated gearbox changes what a rider has to do and, more interestingly, what a rider stops having to think about. On a circuit that is worth something: fewer inputs at the corner exit, no missed shift under braking, more attention left for the line. The same principle applies off the bike. Every job in the paddock that can be made shorter leaves more of the twenty minutes between sessions for the things that matter, which are usually a drink, a look at the tyres and a moment to think about what went wrong in the last three laps. Opening a tank is not a skill anybody wants to practise; on the MT-07 Y-AMT it should take a second and then be forgotten.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato lists the MT-07 700 Y-AMT for 2025 and 2026, and that is the coverage here. The same FC124 is catalogued at Inter-Pace for the MT-07, the MT-07 Pure and the MT-09. Check your machine against the application list before ordering, and contact us if your model year is not shown.
Road Approval
Accossato documents no German ABE and no parts certificate for the FC124, so it is a part for closed circuits. The Y-AMT keeps its factory cap on the road, which normally opens with the ignition key.
