DescriptionThe whole story▼
The Yamaha FZ1 Fazer was built for riders who had spent years folded over a sports bike and wanted the pace without the posture. From 2006 it paired a sporting engine with an upright riding position and a half fairing, and it found an audience that has stayed loyal ever since. Many of those owners still book a circuit day or two each summer. Accossato lists the FZ1 Fazer for the FC124, a quick-release fuel tank cap machined from aluminium with the pawl available in six colours.

Construction and Material Quality
Solid aluminium, worked on CNC machines, is the whole story of this cap as far as material goes, and Accossato rates the result as robust and durable with a new design. Function is concentrated in the quick-closing pawl: on the FZ1 Fazer it opens the tank with one movement and closes it with another, which is the difference between a stop measured in seconds and one measured in minutes. The pin is the coloured element, picked from six shades at the time of ordering, and Accossato sells it separately as a spare should it be damaged.
A Sports Engine and an Upright Seat
Riders who move to a machine like this often keep one foot in their old habits. They still watch the timing screens, they still ride circuits, and they still prepare the bike properly before a session. What changes is the amount of comfort they are willing to trade, and that carries over into how the day is organised. An upright machine is easier to work on in the paddock: you can reach the tank without kneeling, see what you are doing when the fuel goes in and wipe the top clean afterwards without lying across a fairing. It is a small advantage and it repeats itself every time the FZ1 Fazer comes back off the circuit.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato lists the FZ1 1000 Fazer from 2006 to 2016 for the FC124, which this product covers. The same cap is catalogued in our shop for the FZ8, the MT-09 and the FJR1300. Please check the application list before you order if you are unsure which entry applies to your machine.
Road Approval
Accossato records no German ABE and no parts certificate for this cap, so it belongs on closed circuits. For public roads the FZ1 Fazer should keep its standard cap, which normally locks with the ignition key.
