DescriptionThe whole story▼
Kawasaki revised the Ninja H2 SX, its supercharged sports tourer, for 2022 and continued to offer it alongside the better-equipped SE. On a bike with this much bodywork around the tank, every refuel has one consequence that owners of naked bikes rarely think about: fuel that misses the filler does not simply drip to the ground. Accossato's answer for the H2 SX and H2 SX SE of 2022 to 2024 is the FC126: a quick-release cap of CNC-machined aluminium, opened and shut by a quick-closing pawl whose pin you order in one of six colours.
Key Features
- Quick-release fuel tank cap for the Kawasaki Ninja H2 SX, 2022 to 2024
- Also listed for the H2 SX SE of the same years
- Aluminium body, CNC-machined throughout
- Quick-closing pawl
- Pin in gold, silver, blue, green, black or red
- Replacement pawl sold on its own
- No German ABE on record; for the circuit
Construction and Material Quality
Accossato makes the FC126 from aluminium alone, CNC-machined, and describes it as robust and durable, in a new design. The quick-closing pawl gives fast access to the H2 SX's tank and closes it again just as quickly, so the filler stands open for no longer than the pouring takes. Six pin colours are available. Accossato sells the pawl separately, should it ever be damaged.
Where Spilled Fuel Goes on a Faired Bike
On a naked bike, a splash of fuel usually runs down the side of the tank and drips off. On a sports tourer such as the Ninja H2 SX it can find its way into the gaps between tank, panels and frame, where it is out of sight, slow to evaporate and close to hot parts. It can also mark paint, and some plastics and rubbers do not take kindly to it over time. The answer is to avoid the spill in the first place. Pour from a can with a long, narrow spout or through a funnel that reaches into the neck, stop well before the level rises into it, and hold a rag under the spout as you pull it away. If fuel does run, wipe it at once, look into the gaps with a torch and dab out what you can reach. Only then close the pawl of the FC126 and check that the cap is seated. A smell of fuel an hour later means something is still trapped, and it is worth finding before the bike goes back out.
Fitment and Compatibility
Both the H2 SX and the H2 SX SE of 2022 to 2024 are on Accossato's list with the FC126, and this product covers exactly those years; for an H2 SX built before 2022 the entry does not apply. The Ninja 1000 SX and the Versys 1000 use the same cap in our range. Your bike's model year is the detail to confirm against the list before ordering.
Road Approval
No German ABE and no parts certificate are documented for the FC126, so its place is the circuit. On public roads the H2 SX should run with its original cap, which on road bikes can normally be locked.
