DescriptionThe whole story▼
Kawasaki's Ninja 1000 SX of 2020 to 2024 is a four-cylinder sports tourer with a colour dashboard, cruise control and a quickshifter, a bike that makes long days on the road feel easy. It also makes a capable track-day machine, as long as its rider remembers that circuit riding uses fuel at a very different rate. The figure that promises a long range on the motorway can mislead on track. For this Ninja 1000 SX, Accossato lists the FC126, machined from aluminium and shut by a quick-closing pawl that carries a coloured pin.
Key Features
- Quick-release fuel tank cap for the Kawasaki Ninja 1000 SX, 2020 to 2024
- Body entirely machined from aluminium on CNC equipment
- Quick-closing pawl
- Six pin colours: red, green, gold, black, blue, silver
- Pawl can be ordered separately as a spare
- New design by Accossato, described as robust and durable
- No German ABE documented; for track use
Construction and Material Quality
Accossato cuts the whole body of the FC126 from aluminium on CNC machines and calls the result robust and durable, in a design that is new. For the Ninja 1000 SX, the quick-closing pawl means the tank can be opened and closed quickly, which matters when you top up far more often than you would on tour. Its pin comes in six colours. If the pawl gets damaged, it can be bought on its own from Accossato.
When the Range Figure Stops Making Sense
On the road, the Ninja 1000 SX's instruments quietly estimate how far the remaining fuel will take you, and riders learn to rely on that figure. On a circuit it becomes unreliable. The estimate is based on recent consumption, and the jump from motorway cruising to full throttle on every straight is too sudden for it to keep up. The fuel gauge falls faster than you expect, and the range shown after a session may still reflect the ride to the circuit. So treat the number as a rough indication only and work from what you actually put in. Reset a trip meter each time you fill up, note how many laps the bike did before the next top-up, and after two or three sessions you will know its appetite at that track. Refuel with the engine off and the bike upright, close the FC126's pawl and check the cap by hand before riding out again. Running dry is not merely embarrassing: a bike rolling to a stop on the racing line is a hazard for everyone behind it.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato lists the FC126 for the Ninja 1000 SX from 2020 to 2024; model years before 2020 are not part of this entry. The Versys 1000 and the Ninja H2 SX are among the other Kawasakis we list with this cap. Before you order, check your Ninja 1000 SX against the application list.
Road Approval
The FC126 comes without a German ABE or a documented parts certificate, so we sell it for closed circuits. On the road, the Ninja 1000 SX runs with its own cap, which normally locks with the ignition key.
