DescriptionThe whole story▼
The BMW R nineT Pure is the plainest member of the R nineT family, with a conventional fork and a painted tank, and that simplicity makes it an appealing base for builders. Stripped of everything that is not needed, a Pure is a good starting point for the sprint bikes that line up at custom events, where two machines race side by side down a short straight. These events take place on closed tarmac, and the bikes are prepared as much for show as for speed. Accossato's FC103, a quick-release tank cap machined from aluminium with a coloured pawl, suits that kind of build.
Key Features
- Quick-release fuel tank cap for the BMW R nineT Pure, 2015 to 2023
- CNC-machined from aluminium
- Quick-closing pawl for quick top-ups
- Pin in one of six colours
- Pawl available separately as a spare
- New design, robust and durable according to Accossato
- No German ABE documented; for closed tracks and events
Construction and Material Quality
Accossato, whose history includes an Enduro world title in 1985, machines the FC103 entirely from aluminium on CNC equipment and calls it robust and durable. The design is new. The cap opens and closes via a quick-closing pawl, so a top-up on the R nineT Pure takes very little time. The pawl comes in six colours and can be bought separately if it is damaged.
Two Bikes, One Straight
Sprint events are short on track time and long on waiting. Most of the day is spent in the paddock, with riders rolling to the start in pairs when they are called, launching down the straight and coasting back. Between runs there is time to talk, to adjust the bike and to top up fuel, and this is where a quick-release cap earns its place. Refuel well away from the start area, with the engine off and hot parts given a moment to cool. Before each run, make a habit of checking that the pawl of the FC103 is shut, because a hard launch shakes everything on the bike. On machines built as much to be looked at as to be raced, the cap is also a finishing detail. Spectators walk the paddock and study the builds closely, and a machined cap whose pawl echoes the paintwork of an R nineT Pure is the kind of touch they notice.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato's entry reads R 1200 NINE T PURE, 2015 to 2023. Builds that have swapped the R nineT Pure's original tank for a different one fall outside that entry, so check what is actually fitted to your bike before ordering. The same cap is also listed at Inter-Pace for the standard R nineT and the R nineT Racer.
Road Approval
No German ABE and no parts certificate are documented for the FC103; it is a part for closed tracks and events. On public roads the Pure's original cap, normally locked with the ignition key, remains fitted.
Scope of Delivery
