DescriptionThe whole story▼
Every 2003 to 2018 Yamaha R6, including its own 50th Anniversary and Limited Edition runs, shares a single front brake reservoir design, one that Accossato's TS005 is shaped to fit: CNC-machined aluminium, anodised in seven colours, and listed alongside the FP006 oil filler and TS013 rear brake fluid reservoir caps for the same bike.
Key Features
- Front brake fluid reservoir cap for the Yamaha R6, 2003 to 2018, including special editions
- CNC-machined aluminium, anodised in the colour itself
- Seven colours: blue, black, orange, red, silver, green, gold
- FP006 oil filler and TS013 rear brake fluid reservoir caps also listed for this R6
- Fits the original reservoir, once the application list is checked
- Also listed for several other sportsbikes with the same reservoir
- Replaces a cap marked by years of paddock use
- No German ABE on file; built for track and competition use
Construction and Material Quality
CNC machining shapes the TS005 out of aluminium before anodising fixes its colour into the metal's surface rather than painting over it. No figure beyond the reservoir list is given for this cap, so pinning down the R6's own model year is what actually decides whether it fits. A team keeping its sponsor livery intact usually sticks with black, whereas blue, orange, red, silver, green or gold let one privateer bike stand apart from a row of near-identical machines.
Paddock Wear and Tear
Wheeling a bike in and out of a paddock stand every weekend leaves marks that a road-only machine never picks up, and a scuffed reservoir cap is frequently the first sign of it. Level the bars before the old cap comes off, protect any nearby paint first, since brake fluid marks it almost the instant it lands, and move without delay afterwards, because an open reservoir keeps drawing moisture from the air the longer it stays uncovered; wash off any spill with water straight away. With the fluid reading correctly between its marks, bring the new screws down with a gentle, even hand and give the lever a firm pull at a standstill before heading back out.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato's own sheet runs the TS005 across the 2003 to 2018 Yamaha R6, 50th Anniversary and Limited Edition versions included, pairing it with the Honda CBR600RR, the BMW S1000RR and the Kawasaki Ninja H2, among further sportsbikes built around the identical reservoir. The FP006 oil filler cap and the TS013 rear brake fluid reservoir cap are Accossato's other listings for this R6.
Road Approval
There is no ABE or type approval on file for the TS005, so we offer it for racing and closed-course riding rather than road use.
