DescriptionThe whole story▼
Outside the single 2015 S version, the Suzuki SV650 across its 2003 to 2010 and 2016 to 2018 model years uses the more common reservoir that Accossato's TS009 is built for, a CNC-machined, anodised aluminium cap offered in seven colours. It lists alongside the FP001 oil filler and TS005 caps already available for this SV650.
Key Features
- Front brake fluid reservoir cap for the Suzuki SV650, 2003 to 2010 and 2016 to 2018
- CNC-machined aluminium, anodised rather than painted
- Seven colours: blue, green, black, orange, red, silver, gold
- FP001 oil filler and TS005 front brake fluid reservoir caps also listed for this SV650
- Fits the original reservoir used across most of the SV650's history
- Also listed for several other naked and touring Suzuki models
- Replaces a cap faded after years in regular use
- No German ABE on file; intended for track and competition use
Construction and Material Quality
Accossato machines the TS009 from aluminium and anodises it after shaping, so the colour is worked into the surface of the metal rather than sitting over it as a coat. The maker states only the reservoirs this cap suits, so checking the exact SV650 model year against that list, rather than assuming one cap fits every version, remains the deciding step. Black suits a bike kept close to stock, while blue, green, orange, red, silver or gold suit an SV650 that has already picked up other coloured parts over the years.
A Bike That Changes Hands Often
The SV650's reputation as a good value used bike means plenty of examples pass through several owners, and a new reservoir cap is often one of the first small jobs a new owner does to make the bike feel like their own. Before the old cap comes off, turn the bars so the reservoir sits level and mask off any paint within reach, since a drop of brake fluid marks it almost the moment it lands; the job wants doing promptly after that, because an open reservoir keeps pulling moisture in from the air. Any spill gets a wash with water straightaway. With the level reading correctly against its marks, settle the TS009's screws down with a gentle, even hand and give the lever a firm pull at a standstill before the bike goes anywhere. Swapping the cap tidies the cockpit; it has no bearing on when the fluid itself is next due.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato's list covers the SV650 for its 2003 to 2010 and 2016 to 2018 model years with the TS009, and the same cap also appears for the DL1000 V-Strom, DL650 V-Strom, GSF1250 Bandit, GSR750 and GSX-S750, among other current Suzuki models. The FP001 oil filler and TS005 front brake fluid reservoir caps are also listed for this SV650, covering the bike's remaining model year.
Road Approval
Accossato has supplied no test or approval documents for the TS009, so Inter-Pace lists it for racing and closed-course use rather than the public road.
