DescriptionThe whole story▼
The Vulcan 1700 Voyager is Kawasaki's full-dress touring cruiser, built with ABS as standard from 2013 to 2016 for riders covering serious distance two-up. Its front reservoir takes Accossato's TS005, CNC-machined aluminium anodised across seven colours, in place of the standard cap.
Key Features
- Front brake fluid reservoir cap for the Kawasaki Vulcan 1700 Voyager, 2013 to 2016
- Covers the ABS-equipped version of the model
- Aluminium, CNC-machined, anodised
- Seven colours: blue, black, orange, red, silver, green, gold
- Shared application with the BMW S1000R and others
- No other Accossato cap currently listed for this motorcycle
- No German ABE on file; for competition use
- Suits a heavy touring cruiser built for long days in the saddle
Construction and Material Quality
CNC machining gives the TS005 its basic shape from aluminium before it ever sees the anodising bath that turns it blue, black, orange, red, silver, green or gold. A full-dress tourer like the Voyager carries a great deal of chrome and painted bodywork from the factory, and a brightly anodised cap on the front reservoir is one of the few places an owner can add a personal colour touch without disturbing that factory finish anywhere else on the bike.
A Heavy Bike Asks More of Its Front Brake
Loaded with a passenger, luggage and the bike's own substantial weight, a Voyager relies on its front brake more than a lighter machine would for the same stop, and the fluid inside the reservoir takes correspondingly more punishment on a long tour across several days. Checking the level between the markings and keeping to the handbook's change interval matters more here than on almost anything lighter in Kawasaki's range, simply because the stakes of a soft lever are higher at this weight and speed combined.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato lists the TS005 for the front reservoir of the Kawasaki Vulcan 1700 Voyager ABS across 2013 to 2016, the only form in which this particular tourer was sold. No other Accossato cap is currently catalogued for this motorcycle. The same TS005 also fits other manufacturers' machines, including the BMW S1000R and the Honda CBR 1000 RR, among others sharing that reservoir despite being built for an entirely different kind of riding than a loaded touring cruiser.
Road Approval
We hold no ABE or test paperwork for the TS005, so it is listed here for competition use.
