DescriptionThe whole story▼
Suzuki's modern GSX-R1000 brought genuine MotoGP-derived technology down to a production superbike that ordinary riders can actually buy and ride, and owners who choose one tend to actually use that performance out on track rather than let it sit unused in a garage. That kind of use inevitably means finding the front end's limit in a gravel trap sooner or later, usually on a day when absolutely everything else about the bike's behaviour is going entirely right. For the GSX-R1000 built between 2017 and 2020, Accossato's PF053 front axle sliders are built for exactly that moment.
Key Features
- Front axle sliders for the Suzuki GSX-R1000, 2017 to 2020
- Accossato part PF053, one protector for each side of the front wheel
- Aluminium combined with plastic, finished in black
- Spacers, screws and further mounting parts in the kit, as stated by Accossato
- Meant to touch down first if the bike slides off the racing line on track
- Complements the PP076 rear sliders and TP012 crash pads for this generation
- Same PF053 front axle fits only this later GSX-R1000 generation
- No German ABE on file; listed for racing and competition use
Construction and Material Quality
The PF053's two protectors are cast from aluminium with plastic worked in, both finished black and fitted one to a side of the front axle on this later application. Accossato's box also bundles in spacers and screws, plus whatever else it judges the job needs. This newer GSX-R1000's own fork geometry isn't published anywhere in what we've seen, so no bolt sizes, stud lengths or clearances are claimed anywhere in this particular listing.
A Modern Superbike Pushed to Its Limit
Technology borrowed from MotoGP makes the modern GSX-R1000 genuinely capable on a circuit, and owners who ride it the way it was designed to be ridden inevitably run wide at some point while exploring that capability, usually into a gravel trap at the end of a run-off rather than into anything solid. Sliders fitted before that first off mean the fork leg itself doesn't have to pay for that exploration, session after session of pushing a little further.
Fitment and Compatibility
Suzuki's later GSX-R1000, built from 2017 to 2020, is the specific application for this PF053 fitting; the earlier generation instead takes the related PF01 sliders, so confirm which one actually matches your particular bike carefully before placing an order.
Road Approval
Accossato supplies no German ABE or equivalent approval paperwork for the PF053, so we list this pair for racing and competition use on the GSX-R1000 rather than for everyday road riding.
Scope of Delivery
