DescriptionThe whole story▼
The Street Triple 765 RS is the most track-focused version of the 765, and many owners take theirs to circuits at weekends. The first lap of every session is when brakes and tyres are coldest and mistakes are easiest to make. For the Street Triple 765 RS of 2017 to 2021, Accossato lists the DK203, a floating front disc whose 310 mm ring rides on a black carrier, and which can be fitted in place of the original disc.
Key Features
- Floating front brake disc for the Triumph Street Triple 765 RS
- Model years 2017 to 2021
- 310 mm outer diameter, 82 mm inner diameter, 4 mm thick
- Interchangeable with the original equipment disc
- Black carrier
- Minimum thickness printed on the disc
- One disc per order; two are fitted at the front
- No German ABE on record; for the track
Construction and Material Quality
Accossato makes the DK203 from an outer friction ring and a black carrier, joined by rivets that let the ring float a little. That freedom helps the ring cope with rapid changes of temperature, from a cold out-lap to a hot braking zone, without distorting the carrier. Accossato says it applies lessons from Superbike, Moto2 and Moto3 to its discs, including the precise play between ring and carrier, and it prints the minimum working thickness on each disc.
The Out-Lap
Cold tyres and cold brakes make the out-lap the most treacherous part of a session. Pads have a temperature range in which they grip most consistently, and on the first lap they are well below it; tyres without warmers offer little grip until they have been worked for a lap or two. Use the out-lap to build temperature gradually: brake earlier than you will later, a little firmer each time, and save the hard stops until tyres and brakes are warm.
At the end of the session the opposite applies. Ride a slow in-lap to cool everything down, and do not hold the front brake on hard when you stop in the pit lane, because hot pads pressed against a hot disc can leave a deposit on it. Between sessions, look at the discs of the 765 RS for blue discolouration or cracks near the rivets, and measure the thickness before the day starts. That is why the minimum is printed on the disc.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato lists the DK203 for the Street Triple 765 RS from 2017 to 2021 as a replacement for an original front disc. The RS carries two front discs, and the price covers one. The same disc is listed for the 765 S and 765 R. If your Street Triple RS is from a later year, compare its discs with the figures on this page before ordering.
Road Approval
This disc has no documented German ABE and no type approval, so its place is the racetrack.
