DescriptionThe whole story▼
The Street Triple 675 R was the better-equipped version of Triumph's middleweight naked, and plenty of them have served as year-round commuters. Autumn is when commuting asks most of the front brake: damp mornings, wet leaves and roads coated in grime. For the Street Triple 675 R of 2013 to 2016, Accossato lists the DK203, a 310 mm floating disc on a black carrier that the supplier describes as interchangeable with the original equipment.
Key Features
- Floating front brake disc for the Triumph Street Triple 675 R
- Model years 2013 to 2016
- 310 mm outer diameter, 82 mm inner diameter, 4 mm thick
- Interchangeable with the original equipment disc
- Black carrier
- Minimum working thickness marked on the disc
- One disc per order; the 675 R carries two
- No German ABE documented; track use
Construction and Material Quality
Two jobs, two parts. The friction ring of the DK203 does the braking and takes the heat; the black carrier passes the force to the wheel. Rivets connect them and leave the ring free to move very slightly, which is what makes the disc a floating one. Accossato says the design grew out of its work in Superbike, Moto2 and Moto3 and that the fit between the parts was studied in depth. The supplier also states that the disc can be exchanged for the original one.
Autumn on the Way to Work
On a cold, damp morning the first stop needs more thought than usual. Water on the discs means the pads have to wipe away a film before they bite, which takes a moment, and cold tyres on wet leaves or diesel-stained junctions offer little grip. A light touch of the brake well before you need it dries the discs and tells you how much grip there is. Leave more room to the car in front than you would in summer.
In the evening the bike comes home coated in road dirt. Rinse it off, especially once the first salt has gone down, and dry the brakes afterwards, either by riding the last stretch with gentle braking or by dabbing the discs with a clean cloth. Never spray chain lube or polish anywhere near the wheels. Winter use wears pads and discs faster than summer riding, so measure the discs of a year-round Street Triple 675 R in spring and compare the reading with the minimum printed on them before the new season begins.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato lists the DK203 for the Street Triple 675 R from 2013 to 2016 as a replacement for an original front disc. The bike brakes with two discs at the front and each order supplies one. The standard Street Triple 675 and the 675 RX are on the same list. Among the levers Accossato names for the 675 R are the EDF035 and the EST333.
Road Approval
Public-road use in Germany is not covered: there is no documented ABE and no type approval. We sell the DK203 for the track.
