The GSX-R1000R is the more generously equipped version of Suzuki's 2017 to 2022 superbike, and owners who chose it usually care about how the bike behaves at the limit. On a twin-disc front end that behaviour depends on both sides doing equal work, and a caliper that has started to stick can quietly upset the balance. For the GSX-R1000R of these years, Accossato lists the DKS019, a floating Elite disc with a 320 mm ring, a black carrier and logo rivets.

Construction and Material Quality
Accossato's DKS019 has a 320 mm ring, specified at 5.5 mm, riveted to a black carrier that opens to 102.2 mm at the centre. The rivet heads show the Accossato logo. Its racing background, which Accossato names as Superbike, Moto2 and Moto3, is where the company says its disc know-how was formed, including the close study of tolerances at the joint between ring and carrier. It also points out that a worn disc can break under extreme stress, which is why the minimum thickness is printed on every disc it makes.
When One Side Does More
Brake calipers work by pistons sliding in seals. Over time, dirt and corrosion build up on the exposed part of the pistons, and one of them may start to return more slowly than the others. The pad it pushes then stays in light contact with the disc. On the GSX-R1000R the signs are a front wheel that does not spin freely on the stand, one disc visibly more discoloured than the other after a ride, a pad worn thinner than its neighbour, or a faint smell of hot brakes.
Left alone, a dragging pad overheats its disc and wears it faster than its twin. Cleaning the pistons is a job for a careful home mechanic: remove the pads, ease each piston out a short way with the lever without letting any come out completely, clean it with brake cleaner and a soft brush, then push it back. If a piston stays stiff, the caliper needs new seals. Only when both calipers move freely does it make sense to fit new discs, preferably both at once and with fresh pads.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato lists the DKS019 for the GSX-R 1000 R from 2017 to 2022; the standard GSX-R1000 of the same years takes the same disc. It replaces one original front disc, and because each order holds one, a complete change needs two. Check your current disc's dimensions against those above before fitting, and use Suzuki's tightening specification for the disc bolts. On the clutch side, Accossato lists its ESS035 lever for this bike.
Road Approval
There is no German ABE and no type approval documented for the DKS019; it is supplied for the racetrack.
