DescriptionThe whole story▼
The Kawasaki Ninja 7 Hybrid pairs a petrol twin with an electric motor, and its clutch is operated automatically, so there is no clutch lever on the bar. What stays in the rider's hands is the throttle and the front brake, and in dense traffic that brake is in constant use. Accossato's DK236 is a floating Elite front disc listed for the Ninja 7 Hybrid of 2024. It is 300 mm across with a 142 mm inner diameter and 5 mm thick, the same thickness as the original disc, and it has a black carrier.
Key Features
- Elite floating front disc for the Kawasaki Ninja 7 Hybrid, 2024
- 300 mm outside diameter, 142 mm inside diameter
- 5 mm thick, as the original disc, according to the supplier
- Black carrier; the rivets carry the Accossato logo
- Interchangeable with the original equipment disc
- Printed minimum thickness for easy wear checks
- Accossato also lists the DK271 rear disc for 2024
- No German ABE documented, for track use
Construction and Material Quality
Two parts, one purpose: the DK236's braking ring takes the friction and the heat, and the black carrier passes the load to the wheel hub. Rivets join them, carry the Accossato logo and leave the ring a small amount of free movement. Accossato attributes the braking effect of its discs to a specific design, a careful choice of raw materials and detailed study of the clearance between ring and carrier. The thickness of this Elite disc matches the original, and Accossato states that the disc is interchangeable with the part Kawasaki fits to the Ninja 7 Hybrid.
Reading Traffic from the Saddle
In town, good braking starts long before the lever. Riders who commute on a Ninja 7 Hybrid learn to scan two or three cars ahead, to watch for brake lights through the windows of the car in front and for front wheels that begin to turn at junctions. Every hazard seen early turns an emergency stop into a steady one, which is kinder to the rider, the tyres and the discs. Leave a gap that lets you stop in a straight line, cover the brake lever when a car is waiting to pull out, and stay out of the blind spots of vans and buses.
Stop-and-go traffic still sends a great many cycles through the brakes, even when each stop is gentle. The result is steady, even wear rather than heat, and it shows as a slowly growing step at the outer edge of the disc. Measure the front disc of your Ninja 7 Hybrid at each service and compare it with the minimum Accossato prints on it; replace it when that value is reached, or earlier if it is scored or cracked. Accossato's guideline is a new disc every thirty to forty thousand kilometres.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato lists the DK236 for the Kawasaki Ninja 7 Hybrid for the 2024 model year. For the rear wheel of the same bike, the DK271 fixed disc is listed for 2024 as well. The price covers one disc, so check how many discs your Ninja 7 Hybrid carries at the front before ordering. Tighten the bolts to Kawasaki's specification and bed the new disc in with fresh pads.
Road Approval
No German ABE is documented for the DK236, and there is no type approval on file. It is offered for circuit use.
