DescriptionThe whole story▼
The Ducati Superleggera V4 was built in a limited number, and its owners tend to treat it with the care a collectible deserves while still riding it, often on a circuit. Fitting replacement parts for regular use is one way to keep the factory components in good condition. For the front wheel of the Panigale V4 Superleggera, listed for 2020 to 2022, Accossato offers the DKS036 from its Elite range: a ring 330 mm in diameter and 5.5 mm thick, riveted to a black carrier.
Key Features
- Elite floating front disc for the Ducati Panigale V4 Superleggera, 2020 to 2022
- 330 mm outside, 72 mm centre bore
- 5.5 mm friction ring
- Black carrier, rivets bearing the Accossato logo
- Minimum working thickness printed on the disc
- One disc per order; two are fitted at the front
- No German ABE documented; for track use
Construction and Material Quality
Accossato's Elite discs are recognisable by the company logo on the rivets that join ring and carrier. On the DKS036 those rivets hold a 330 mm ring with a thickness of 5.5 mm to a black carrier with a 72 mm centre. The joint is designed to float, letting the ring move a fraction as it expands with heat. According to Accossato, its designs and materials, and the attention it pays to clearances between carrier and ring, come from racing in Superbike, Moto2 and Moto3. The company, founded in 1969 in Moncalieri near Turin, marks the minimum working thickness on each disc.
Keeping the Originals Safe
On a limited-series bike, originality matters to the owner and to any future buyer, and the factory discs of a Superleggera V4 are part of it. Riding hard on them, particularly on a circuit, consumes them, and once they have reached their minimum thickness they cannot be restored. Some owners of rare machines therefore remove the original discs while they are still in good condition, store them away, and fit replacement discs for everyday riding and track days.
If you go this way, treat the originals properly. Clean them, dry them completely and store them somewhere dry, wrapped so they cannot be scratched and so that moisture cannot settle on the surface. Label them left and right, and note the date and the odometer reading at which they came off. Then fit the DKS036 discs with fresh pads and bed them in. Should the bike ever be sold or shown, the originals can go back on, with new pads for them as well.
Fitment and Compatibility
In Accossato's application list the DKS036 is given for the Ducati Superleggera V4 from 2020 to 2022. The price is for a single disc; the Superleggera carries two at the front, so a complete change needs two DKS036. Accossato lists no other disc for this model.
Road Approval
No German ABE and no type approval have been documented for the DKS036. It is offered for track riding and competition.
Scope of Delivery
