DescriptionThe whole story▼
The Ducati Hypermotard 950 RVE, with its graffiti-style livery, tends to find owners who ride it hard and often. When its front discs reach the end of their life, a practical question comes up: is it enough to replace one of them? For the RVE, listed from 2020 to 2025, Accossato offers the DKS053, a floating disc with a black carrier, 320 mm across and 5.5 mm thick, sold one disc at a time.
Key Features
- Floating front disc for the Ducati Hypermotard 950 RVE, listed for 2020 to 2025
- Outer diameter 320 mm, inner diameter 72 mm, thickness 5.5 mm
- Five 8.5 mm mounting holes, 90 mm hole-centre distance
- Friction ring riveted to a black carrier
- Interchangeable with the Ducati original
- Minimum working thickness printed on the disc
- Priced singly; the RVE runs two front discs
- No German ABE or type approval documented, for the track
Construction and Material Quality
This floating disc pairs a friction ring with a black carrier, linked by rivets that permit a small, controlled movement. The carrier mounts on the wheel through five holes of 8.5 mm, with a hole-centre distance of 90 mm as Accossato gives it, around a 72 mm bore. Accossato describes the disc as interchangeable with the Ducati original, and it prints the minimum working thickness on every disc so that wear can be judged against a known value.
One Disc or Two?
The two front discs of a Hypermotard 950 RVE share every stop, see the same heat and usually wear at a similar rate. Replacing only one leaves a new disc at full thickness beside a worn one, and the pads on each side then work against different surfaces, which can make the front brake feel uneven. Unless one disc has been damaged on its own, in a fall for instance, it makes sense to replace both at once and to fit new pads in both calipers. Measure the old discs before deciding. If both are near the printed minimum, the decision makes itself; if one is scored or cracked and the other is not, keeping the two sides matched is still the sounder choice.
Fitment and Compatibility
For the Hypermotard 950 RVE, Accossato's entry spans 2020 to 2025. The RVE carries two front discs and each DKS053 is priced individually, so a full change means ordering two. It is the only Accossato disc listed for this version of the Hypermotard.
Road Approval
For this disc, a German ABE is not on record, and neither is a type approval. We supply it for use on the track.
