A rear disc should wear evenly on both faces. When the inner face of the disc on a KTM 500 EXC-F Six Days looks different from the outer one, something in the caliper is not moving freely, and the disc is paying for it. The Six Days models are built for long, hard days off-road, and that is exactly where such faults develop. Accossato lists the DK018 as their rear disc from 2012 to 2024: a fixed one-piece disc, 220 mm in diameter and 4 mm thick.

Construction and Material Quality
The DK018 is a fixed disc made as a single piece; the supplier calls it steel-made. It comes from Accossato's off-road programme, with a 110 mm centre opening and a thickness of 4 mm. Accossato describes the development of its discs as a transfer of knowledge from Superbike, Moto2 and Moto3, combined with careful selection of material and attention to tolerances. The minimum working thickness printed on the disc is the reference for every check described below.
Two Faces of One Disc
The rear brakes of enduro bikes typically use a floating caliper: only one side has a piston, and the caliper body slides on pins to bring the opposite pad against the disc. When those pins are dry, dirty or corroded, the caliper stops sliding freely. The piston side keeps working, but the other pad drags lightly or barely touches, and the two faces of the disc wear at different rates. The result is a disc that is thinner on one side, a pedal that feels wooden and pads with very different amounts of lining left.
Checking takes a few minutes. With the pads out, measure the thickness of each, and compare both faces of the disc for differences in colour and grooves. Pull the slide pins, clean them and their bores, look at the rubber boots for tears and apply a thin film of grease meant for brake slide pins, keeping it well away from pads and disc. Refit, pump the pedal and spin the wheel: it should turn freely once the pedal is released. On a 500 EXC-F Six Days ridden in mud and water, this service belongs to every major pad change.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato lists the DK018 for the KTM 500 EXC-F Six Days from 2012 to 2024, as a replacement for the original rear disc. At the front, the Six Days has the DK259 on Accossato's list, for 2015 to 2023. One rear disc is fitted to the bike. Accossato also names the B8283 brake lever and C7283 clutch lever for this model. After fitting, tighten the bolts to KTM's value for the 500 EXC-F Six Days.
Road Approval
No German ABE or type approval is documented for the DK018, which makes it a part for competition and off-road riding rather than the road.
