DescriptionThe whole story▼
Rocky cross-country loops are hard on everything that sits low on a bike, and the rear disc of a KTM 250 XC-F is right in the firing line. A stone flicked up by the front tyre or a ledge taken at a slight angle can strike its edge. For the 250 XC-F of 2011 to 2026, Accossato lists the DK018 as the rear disc. In the supplier's description it is steel-made and in one piece; the figures are 220 mm outside, 110 mm at the bore and 4 mm through the friction surface.
Key Features
- Rear disc for the KTM 250 XC-F, 2011 to 2026
- Fixed design from Accossato's off-road range
- Steel-made, per the supplier
- Dimensions 220 mm, 110 mm and 4 mm
- Minimum thickness printed on the disc
- Direct replacement for the original rear disc
- Supplied singly; no German ABE documented
Construction and Material Quality
Being made in a single piece, the DK018 has no rivets that a blow could loosen and no joint between ring and centre to collect grit. Its 4 mm section gives it a little more body than the front discs of these bikes. Accossato lists it as a replacement for the original, and it says its approach to brake discs took shape in Superbike, Moto2 and Moto3 racing, where the choice of raw material and the precision of the design decide how a disc performs. A printed figure on the disc marks the thickness at which it is worn out.
Rocks at Wheel Height
A disc that has been hit is not always easy to spot. Sometimes the edge carries a shiny nick; sometimes the only sign is a light rubbing noise as the wheel turns, or a pedal that pulses under the boot. On the 250 XC-F, check by lifting the rear wheel and spinning it while you watch the gap between disc and caliper. Any wobble you can see is too much, and a bent disc should be replaced, not straightened. A rear disc guard, which many riders fit for rocky terrain, keeps most strikes away. Mount it so that it cannot rub, include its bolts in your regular checks, and clear out the mud that collects behind it after every wet ride, because packed dirt pressed against a spinning disc grinds at it like sandpaper.
Fitment and Compatibility
Owners of a KTM 250 XC-F from 2011 to 2026 can fit the DK018 at the rear in place of the factory disc. For the front of the same bike, Accossato's list gives the DK259 from 2011 to 2020, so for a 250 XC-F built after 2020, only the rear disc appears there. Both are fixed discs from the off-road range and are sold individually.
Road Approval
The DK018 comes without a German ABE, and no type approval has been documented. We sell it for off-road competition, the setting the 250 XC-F was built for.
Scope of Delivery
