DescriptionThe whole story▼
Among the trees, a Husqvarna TX 125 is steered with the right boot almost as much as with the handlebar. A short press on the rear brake before a tight turn takes off speed without loading the front tyre, lets the back of the bike step out a little and lines the two-stroke up for the exit. The disc that has to take all this is the DK018, which Accossato lists for the TX 125 from 2017 to 2019: a fixed rear disc from the company's off-road range, made in steel as a single piece and meant to replace the original.

- Interchangeable with the original rear disc

- No German ABE on record; competition and closed-course use
Construction and Material Quality
New, the DK018 measures 220 mm across, has a 110 mm opening in the middle and is 4 mm thick. There is no separate carrier: the ring the pads clamp and the section bolted to the hub are the same piece of steel. A rear disc on a dirt bike lives low down, within reach of every stone and root the tyre meets, and a one-piece disc has no rivets or floating joint for such knocks to disturb. Accossato traces its disc know-how to Superbike, Moto2 and Moto3; the woods ask different things of a disc, but even wear and a true surface count there as well.
Steering With the Right Foot
Riders who come to cross-country from motocross often use the rear brake less than they could. In tight woods the front tyre already has plenty to do on wet roots and loose leaves, and the rear brake is the gentler way to slow down. A dab before the turn, the rear wheel slowing slightly more than the front, and the TX 125 swings its tail round and points where you want to go. Ridden that way, the rear brake comes on dozens of times per lap, and the disc takes grit from the tyre, water from the streams and heat on the slow, technical sections.
Two signs tell you the rear disc wants attention. If the pedal needs more travel than it used to and the brake snatches instead of building smoothly, look at the pads and at the disc surface. If a regular pulse comes up through your boot, the disc may be bent, which happens easily when a rock catches it. Either way, take the wheel out and inspect the disc before the next race.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato lists the DK018 for the Husqvarna TX 125 from 2017 to 2019 and describes it as interchangeable with the original rear disc. At the front, the same years are covered by two Accossato discs, the DK017 and the DK259. With the rear wheel out, check the bearings for play and the spokes for tension, keep chain lube and grease well away from the disc, and after refitting spin the wheel and press the pedal a few times so the pads settle against the new disc of your TX 125.
Road Approval
The TX 125 races away from public roads, and so does this disc: there is no German ABE and no type approval on file for the DK018.
Scope of Delivery
A single DK018 rear disc; pads and bolts are not part of the order.
