DescriptionThe whole story▼
Motocross riders use the rear brake in a place no road rider would: in the air. A quick tap of the pedal on a Husqvarna TC 125 halfway through a jump stops the rear wheel spinning and brings the front end down. Accossato's DK018 is the rear disc for that brake on the TC 125 from 2014 to 2021, a fixed one-piece disc from the off-road range that the supplier lists as steel, 220 mm across and 4 mm thick.
Key Features
- Rear brake disc for the Husqvarna TC 125, 2014 to 2021
- Fixed off-road design in one piece, steel-made per the supplier
- 220 mm outer diameter with a 110 mm bore
- Thickness 4 mm, minimum working thickness printed on the disc
- Interchangeable with the original equipment disc, according to Accossato
- Sold as one disc
- No German ABE documented; for motocross tracks
Construction and Material Quality
The DK018 is made in one piece and has no carrier or rivets; the supplier describes it as steel-made. Accossato says its disc know-how comes from Superbike, Moto2 and Moto3, and emphasises tolerances and the weight of its discs, which in its view helps a motorcycle steer. On the disc, the minimum thickness is printed as a clear wear limit. Accossato's warning behind that print is plain: a disc worn too thin can break under extreme stress.
A Tap in the Air
The effect comes from physics. A spinning rear wheel acts like a gyroscope, and stopping it suddenly makes the bike pitch forward. If the TC 125 leaves a jump with the front wheel too high, a short tap on the rear brake lowers the nose before landing. The technique needs a brake that responds instantly and the same way every time, because a tap that bites too hard or too late sets up a nose-heavy landing. A distorted or glazed disc spoils that feel, and so does a pedal set too high or too low for the rider's boot. After fitting a new disc, adjust pedal height and free play to suit, and practise the tap on small jumps first. The rear disc also takes plenty of stones and roost on a motocross track, so check it for knocks and bends after each race day.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato lists the TC 125 under this disc twice, for 2014 to 2015 and for 2014 to 2021, which together cover the model years 2014 to 2021. The DK018 replaces the original rear disc, and at the front the DK017 covers the same years.
Road Approval
As a motocross bike, the TC 125 has no place on public roads, and the DK018 carries no German ABE or documented type approval either. It is a part for the track.
Scope of Delivery
The box holds one DK018 rear disc.
