The GasGas EC 125 is a light two-stroke enduro built long before GasGas became part of the KTM group, and many are still out on the trails, passed from rider to rider and brought back to life in home workshops. On an old enduro bike, the rear brake is often the part that has been neglected longest. Accossato lists its DK018 rear disc for the EC 125 from 1998 to 2015: a fixed disc in one piece of steel, 220 mm in diameter and 4 mm thick, which the maker describes as a like-for-like replacement for the factory part.

Construction and Material Quality
Off-road rear discs are made to put up with mud, water and stones, and the DK018 keeps things simple for that reason: one piece of steel, with no carrier and no rivets. Its outer diameter is 220 mm, its centre opening 110 mm and its thickness 4 mm. Enduro is familiar ground for Accossato, whose history includes a world title in the discipline in 1985. The company says its disc know-how was built up in road racing, in Superbike, Moto2 and Moto3, but careful design and choice of material count on a trail as much as on a circuit.
An Older EC 125 Back on the Trail
Reviving an older EC 125 usually starts with the engine, but the rear brake deserves the same attention before the first ride. Years of standing can leave the caliper pistons stiff, the slider pins dry and the fluid dark, so the pads drag and heat the disc even when you are not using the brake. Strip the caliper, clean and grease the slider pins with a suitable grease while keeping it well away from the pads, and renew the fluid.
Then look at the disc. A rear disc on an enduro bike collects every kind of abuse: stones thrown up by the front wheel, logs that catch it from below, mud that grinds its surface. Check it for bends by spinning the wheel and watching the gap to the caliper, and measure its thickness in several places against the service limit for the original, or the minimum printed on an Accossato disc. A disc that is bent, cracked or thin has done its job. Replacing it together with new pads gives an old EC 125 a rear brake that stops it predictably on the next steep descent.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato's list covers the GasGas EC 125 over a long span, 1998 to 2015. Over that many years, small changes to wheels and brakes are possible, so lay the new disc against the old one before fitting and check the diameter, the centre opening and the bolt holes. Accossato also offers the B8206 brake lever and the C7283 clutch lever for this bike. Tighten the disc bolts to the value in the GasGas manual, with thread lock if the manual asks for it.
Road Approval
The DK018 is sold for off-road competition and use on closed ground: no German ABE and no type approval are documented for it.
