DescriptionThe whole story▼
The original Street Triple 675 turned Triumph's supersport engine into one of the most agile naked bikes of its generation, light enough to flick through city traffic with little effort. That agility is put to the test on roads with poor surfaces, where a pothole appears with no warning and a rider has to choose in a split second between riding through it, braking hard, or swerving into another lane. Accossato lists its TP053 crash pads for the Street Triple 675 of 2007 to 2015.
Key Features
- Crash pads for the Triumph Street Triple 675, 2007 to 2015
- Accossato TP053, two pads per pack
- CNC-machined aluminium body
- Anodised insert in blue, green, black, red, silver or gold
- Screw cover available in a matching colour
- No other Accossato protection part listed for this model
- Ask us before ordering whether drilling is required
- No German ABE on file; for racing and competition use
Construction and Material Quality
Accossato cuts the TP053 from aluminium on CNC machines and fits an anodised insert in one of six colours, with a matching screw cover available for those who order it. Two pads make up the set. On the Street Triple 675, a bike with little bodywork to begin with, they sit close to the frame and are designed to take the first contact if the bike tips over, reducing some of the damage that would otherwise reach the frame tubes directly. They show wear after use, and a pad that has clearly taken a hit should be swapped for a new one.
A Pothole With No Warning
Urban roads deteriorate unevenly, and a pothole hiding in a shadow, under a puddle, or just past a blind crest gives a rider on the Street Triple 675 almost no time to react. Swerving sharply at the last moment risks putting the bike into a car, a cyclist or oncoming traffic, while braking hard mid-swerve can unsettle the suspension just as the wheel needs to be loaded evenly. Riding through a shallow pothole in a straight line, with a relaxed grip on the bars and the weight kept off the front wheel as much as possible, is usually the safer option, though a deep or sharp-edged hole can still unseat a rider or send the bike off balance. If the Street Triple 675 does go down avoiding or hitting a pothole, the crash pads take the first contact; check them, together with the wheel and the levers, before riding on.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato's application list gives the TP053 for the Street Triple 675 from 2007 to 2015, and our listing follows those years. No other Accossato protection part is shown for this model. Accossato notes that drilling the fairing is needed on some motorcycles for these pads, without naming which ones, so please ask us before ordering whether your Street Triple 675 requires it.
Road Approval
We have no ABE or test certificate on file for the TP053, so it is supplied for track and competition use.
