DescriptionThe whole story▼
The Bonneville carries one of the longest-running names in motorcycling, and the 2007-to-2015 generation brought air-cooled, carburettor-era character to a new audience discovering classic style. Owners who show these bikes often end up parking on the cobbled squares and uneven market setts of old town centres, surfaces designed for cart wheels long before anyone imagined a kickstand. Accossato lists the TP049 crash pads for the Bonneville of 2007 to 2015.
Key Features
- Crash pads for the Triumph Bonneville, 2007 to 2015
- Accossato TP049, two pads in the pack
- CNC-machined aluminium body
- Anodised insert in six colours: blue, green, black, red, silver or gold
- Matching screw cover available as an option
- No other Accossato protection part listed for this model
- Ask us before ordering whether your Bonneville needs drilling
- No German ABE documented; for racing and competition
Construction and Material Quality
Accossato machines the TP049 from aluminium and fits a separate insert, anodised in the colour of your choice, with a matching screw cover as an optional extra. Two pads form the set. On a Bonneville, whose rounded tank and simple lines leave little in the way of bodywork to protect, the pads sit close to the frame and are meant to be the first point of contact if the bike tips over, which can reduce the damage nearby. They will show the marks of that job over time, and a pad that has taken a hard knock should be replaced.
Cobbles and Market Setts
Old cobbled squares look charming in photographs and behave unpredictably under a motorcycle's side stand. Individual setts sit at slightly different heights, gaps between them widen and narrow unevenly, and centuries of polish from cart wheels, boots and rain have left many of them smoother and more slippery than they appear. Put the Bonneville's side stand down on the flattest stone you can find, and be ready for it to find a gap and sink a little once weight settles onto it. Rain turns cobbles treacherous within minutes, since water sits on the rounded tops rather than draining away, and a boot or a stand foot can skid sideways with surprisingly little warning. At a bike show or a market day, bikes are often parked close together on exactly this kind of surface, so a stumble from a neighbour's machine is also worth guarding against. If the Bonneville does go over, check the crash pads, the mirror and the lever before riding off the square.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato's list gives the TP049 for the Bonneville from 2007 to 2015, and our listing matches those years exactly. No other Accossato protection part is shown for this model. Accossato also notes that some motorcycles need the fairing drilled for its crash pads, without naming them, so please ask us before ordering whether your Bonneville requires it.
Road Approval
Without an ABE or a test mark on file, we offer the TP049 for use in racing and competition.
