DescriptionThe whole story▼
The SV650X dresses the same V-twin in a half fairing and a round headlight, aimed at riders who like a café racer look without giving up the SV's easy manners. Café meets tend to fill small spaces with bikes parked close together, often on whatever patch of grass verge or gravel apron the venue offers rather than a proper car park. Accossato lists its TP054 crash pads for the SV650X, built for the 2018 model year.
Key Features
- Crash pads for the Suzuki SV650X, model year 2018
- Accossato TP054, supplied as a pair
- CNC-machined aluminium body
- Insert anodised in blue, green, black, red, silver or gold
- Matching screw cover offered as a variant
- Same pads listed for the standard SV650
- Ask us before ordering about drilling on your bike
- No German ABE available; supplied for competition use
Construction and Material Quality
The TP054 is machined from aluminium and finished with a coloured anodised insert, chosen from six shades, with an optional screw cover to match. Two pads make up the pack. Bolted near the fairing of the SV650X, they are there to be the first thing that meets the ground in a tip-over, taking some of the impact that would otherwise reach the frame. They are a safeguard against the ordinary knocks of everyday riding and parking, not an assurance that the frame will come away unmarked, and a pad that has clearly taken a hit should be swapped for a fresh one.
Parked on the Verge at a Café Meet
Informal bike meets rarely offer proper hardstanding for everyone, and a grass verge or a loose gravel apron looks fine right up until a side stand begins to sink. The SV650X is light enough to manage, but a soft or sloping surface can still tip it if the stand finds a dip or the ground gives way under its own weight after sitting for an hour in the sun. Arriving early to claim a firm, level spot helps, as does carrying a simple pad to spread the load of the side stand on grass or gravel. Bikes parked close together at these meets also invite accidental knocks from someone manoeuvring their own machine into a tight gap. If the SV650X does go over on soft ground, the crash pads take the first contact; look them over, together with the mirror and the clutch lever, before riding home.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato's application list names the SV650X for the 2018 model year only, and our listing follows that. The same TP054 pads are listed in our shop for the standard SV650 as well. Accossato states that drilling the fairing is required on some motorcycles for these pads without specifying which, so ask us before ordering whether your SV650X needs it. No other Accossato protection part appears for this model.
Road Approval
No approval documents, German ABE or otherwise, have been supplied to us for the TP054, so we list it for track and competition use.
