DescriptionThe whole story▼
A modern GSX-R1000 running wide at a trackday puts its fairing down onto the gravel trap before anything else, and that fairing wraps a lot of carefully shaped, costly bodywork around the frame. For the GSX-R1000 built between 2017 and 2020, Accossato's TP012 crash pads sit at exactly that point of first contact, with a coloured anodised insert you choose to suit the bike itself or your own particular race livery that particular season.
Key Features
- Fairing crash pads for the Suzuki GSX-R1000, 2017 to 2020
- Accossato part TP012, two pads in the pack, one per side
- CNC-machined aluminium body with a colour-anodised insert
- Insert available in blue, green, black, red, silver or gold
- Optional matching screw cover in the same insert colour
- Fitting may call for drilling the fairing on some applications
- Pairs with the PF053 front and PP076 rear sliders for this generation
- No German ABE on file; listed for racing and competition use
Construction and Material Quality
Turning on a lathe gives the TP012 its aluminium shape for this newer GSX-R1000, after which the anodised insert goes in, in the colour you request, so the finish sits within the metal rather than as a layer above it. A matching screw cover suits a tidier look. Two pads fill the box, and whether further hardware is part of the package is a point Accossato's paperwork simply doesn't address.
Fairing First, Every Time
Whatever causes a modern GSX-R1000 to run wide, be it a late brake, a misjudged line or simply pushing too hard too soon, the result almost always lands the same way: fairing down on the gravel. Riders who do several trackdays a season fit pads before they ever need them, on the simple logic that a worn pad costs a fraction of a replacement panel, and ask us before ordering whether drilling is needed on your particular GSX-R1000, since this isn't confirmed for every model year.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato's application for the TP012 spans the 2017 to 2020 GSX-R1000 specifically and only that span; confirm your exact year carefully before placing an order. The same bike also takes the PF053 front and PP076 rear sliders in our range, and this crash pad is also listed in our shop for the Yamaha FZ1 Fazer and FZ8.
Road Approval
Accossato supplies no German ABE or equivalent approval document for the TP012, so Inter-Pace lists this pair for racing and competition use on the GSX-R1000, not as a road accessory.
