DescriptionThe whole story▼
Some owners strip a Yamaha XSR700 XTRIBUTE from the 2019 to 2022 model years down to a light track machine for club events or time attack. For that purpose Accossato makes its front pad AGPA97 in EV2 racing, SKU AGPA97EV2. This compound is for riders whose weekend is measured in lap times, qualifying runs and late braking points, and who prepare the bike for the circuit rather than for the commute.
Key Features
- EV2 racing compound, SKU AGPA97EV2
- Front pad for the Yamaha XSR700 XTRIBUTE, 2019 to 2022
- Accossato calls it a top racing compound
- Made for qualifying and timed sessions
- For hard, repeated stops at the end of straights
- Two pads per box, one caliper
- Rear pad AGPP88 also offered
Construction and Material Quality
Accossato describes EV2 racing as one of its top compounds for competition. It belongs on an XSR700 XTRIBUTE that has been prepared for the circuit, where the brake is used hard and often. The company also highlights general qualities of its pads, including slow wear, fade resistance through controlled heat and a strong stopping effect. We do not add figures or material details beyond those statements.
Race Weekend Preparation
A race weekend puts the front brake through free practice, qualifying and one or more races, often with little time between them. Riders using EV2 racing tend to fix their braking markers early and build towards them lap by lap. On an XSR700 XTRIBUTE converted for the track, check pad thickness after each session and keep a spare set in the paddock box. If you ride mostly on the road and visit the circuit only now and then, the EV1 version of the same pad is more suitable; for a ceramic option, Accossato also lists ZXC.
Fitment and Compatibility
This pad is listed by Accossato for the front of the Yamaha XSR700 XTRIBUTE from 2019 to 2022, catalogue name XSR 700 X TRIBUTE. Because the XSR700 XTRIBUTE uses two front calipers, a complete change requires two boxes. The rear pad from Accossato is AGPP88 for the same range of years. Before fitting, clean the pistons and push them back carefully, check the fluid level afterwards, and pump the lever until the pressure is back. Change both front calipers at once to keep the brake balanced.
Road Approval
We have no test report or approval, such as an ABE, for this compound. It is sold for racing and competition purposes.
Scope of Delivery
