DescriptionThe whole story▼
Accossato makes its AGPA97 front pad for the Yamaha XSR700 of 2016 to 2025 in EV2, its racing compound, as well. For a neo-retro twin that most people ride on the road, this is a narrow choice. It fits the owner who has turned the XSR700 into a dedicated circuit machine, perhaps with a set of slicks and a trailer, and who spends weekends chasing lap times at club level where the front brake is used to its limit at every corner.

Construction and Material Quality
Top racing compound: that is how Accossato labels EV2, and it is all the manufacturer states. No figures are given, so none appear here. The logic is that a racing mix works in the heat range a circuit produces, far above anything a commute or a Sunday ride reaches, while the firm's standing aims of resisting fade and wearing evenly still hold.
Chasing Lap Times on a Twin
A light twin like the XSR700 rewards carrying speed into corners, and that depends on trusting the front brake completely. With EV2, a rider working on lap times can move braking markers a little later over the course of a day, knowing the pad is designed to respond the same way on the tenth lap of a session as on the second. Data from a lap timer quickly reveals whether braking is consistent, and consistent braking is often where a club rider finds the most time.
The Circuit Toolkit
Bring spare pads, fresh fluid and a bleed kit to the circuit. Inspect the pad surfaces at lunchtime, look for glazing or uneven contact, and bleed the system if the lever begins to come further towards the bar. On a trailer-transported track bike, the question of cold road behaviour does not arise; on a bike ridden to the venue, keep the pace gentle until the brakes are warm.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato's catalogue gives AGPA97 for the XSR 700 across 2016 to 2025, while the rear takes AGPP88. The front end carries a pair of calipers, so a complete change means ordering two boxes. When fitting, clean each piston before pushing it back, keep the discs spotless, and pump the lever until it is hard before the bike leaves the paddock.
Road Approval
There is no German ABE or test mark on file. EV2 is for racing and competition only.
