DescriptionThe whole story▼
Accossato offers its AGPA97 front pad for the Yamaha XJR1300 of 1999 to 2019 in EV2, a racing compound. On a big air-cooled roadster this is a specialist option, meant for owners who take the XJR onto a closed circuit, for example at classic or naked-bike track days, and want a pad designed for heavy, repeated stops at circuit pace. Everyday riders will be better served by the other compounds.
Key Features
- AGPA97 front pad, EV2 racing compound
- Listed for the Yamaha XJR1300, 1999 to 2019
- Accossato's top racing compound
- For closed-circuit use
- Designed for repeated heavy stops
- One box, one caliper
- OR, ST, EV1 and ZXC also available
Construction and Material Quality
Accossato calls EV2 a top racing compound, and we do not add technical figures to that description. It is designed to work in the high temperature range of circuit use, where a heavy bike like the XJR1300 puts a lot of energy into the brakes.
A Heavy Roadster on Track
On a circuit, an XJR1300 arrives at every braking point with a lot of mass and speed. The front brake has to absorb that energy again and again. A racing compound is designed to keep its response through that repetition, so the rider can rely on the same braking marker lap after lap. Riders should prepare the whole system: fresh fluid, clean calipers and discs with enough material.
Road Use
A racing pad on a cold road behaves differently from a road compound. Ride calmly to and from the circuit and allow for longer stopping distances until the brakes are warm. Between sessions, check pad wear and lever travel, and keep a note of how the brake felt at the end of each run. On a bike of this weight, those notes show quickly whether the pads, the fluid or the rider needs attention next.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato lists AGPA97 for the XJR 1300 (1999 to 2018), the XJR 1300 RACER (2015 to 2019) and the XJR 1300 SP (2001). Two front calipers mean two boxes. The rear pad is AGPA117 and the DK033 disc is also listed. Change both sides together, pump the lever firm and bed the pads in during the first laps.
Road Approval
There is no German ABE or test mark on file. EV2 is for racing and competition only.
