DescriptionThe whole story▼
EV2, Accossato's racing compound, is also available for the AGPA22 front pad on the Yamaha XJ6 Diversion from 2009 to 2015. This is a niche choice for a faired road bike, suited to owners who take the Diversion onto a closed circuit for timed sessions and want a pad designed for repeated hard stops from high speed. For touring and daily riding, the other compounds are better suited.
Key Features
- AGPA22 front pad, EV2 racing compound
- Listed for the XJ6 Diversion, 2009 to 2015
- Accossato's top racing compound
- For timed circuit sessions
- Designed for repeated high-speed stops
- One box, one front caliper
- OR, ST and EV1 also listed
Construction and Material Quality
The manufacturer's verdict on EV2 is short: a top racing compound. We leave it at that rather than inventing figures. Its intended home is the circuit, where the pad works at temperatures a road ride never reaches, and where fade resistance and even wear, two aims Accossato applies to its whole range, are tested lap after lap.
On the Circuit
On a closed circuit, the front brake of a Diversion is asked to stop the bike from high speed at the end of every straight, then again into the next slow corner. A racing compound is designed to keep its response through that repetition, so the braking markers you settle on in the morning remain valid in the afternoon. The fairing and road-going nature of the Diversion do not change that: once on track, the brakes carry the same load as on any other four-cylinder of its size. Riders should prepare the whole system, with fresh fluid, clean pistons and discs within wear limits.
Road Use and Pit Checks
A racing pad on a cold road does not behave like a road compound. If you ride to the circuit, allow for that on the way and keep the pace moderate until the brakes are warm. Between sessions, check lever travel, look at the pad surface for even contact and note any change in how the bike stops. Those notes make the next session more productive.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato lists AGPA22 for the XJ6 600 Diversion from 2009 to 2015, with AGPP89 as the rear pad. The Diversion has two front calipers, so two boxes are needed. Replace both sides together, pump the lever firm and bed the pads in on the first laps.
Road Approval
There is no German ABE or test mark in our records. EV2 is for racing and competition only.
