DescriptionThe whole story▼
A racing compound on a sports tourer needs explaining. Accossato front pad AGPA97 fits many Yamahas, from supersports to tourers, so its EV2 racing compound is listed for the Tracer 900 from 2015 to 2024 as well. EV2 is designed for hot, repeated braking on a circuit. It only belongs on a Tracer 900 that spends its time on track, and riders who tour or commute should look at the other compounds of this pad.
Key Features
- AGPA97 front pad in the EV2 racing compound
- Accossato lists it for the Yamaha Tracer 900, 2015-2024
- Accossato: a top racing compound
- For hot, repeated braking on a circuit
- Not a touring or commuting choice
- Two pads per box, one caliper
- Road options: OR, ST, EV1; race option ZXC
Construction and Material Quality
Accossato describes EV2 as a top racing compound. That is its purpose: circuit riding, where the pads stay hot and work hard at every corner. The general claims Accossato makes for all its pads, slow wear, reduced fade through limited heat and strong braking, are included as the company's statements, without independent data from us.
Where EV2 Fits
The Tracer 900's triple engine and relatively light chassis would make it a quick bike on a circuit. If your Tracer has been prepared for that and rarely sees public roads, EV2 is designed to deliver a consistent response lap after lap. Warm the pads up with a few firm stops at the start of each session. For anyone who tours or commutes, ST or EV1 are the right choices, because a race compound is not designed around cold, wet roads. A converted Tracer also keeps its touring geometry and longer suspension, so expect more weight transfer under braking than on a supersport, and give yourself a few sessions to learn how the bike reacts before pushing the braking points deeper.
Track Maintenance
Heat ages brake fluid faster than road riding, so change it more often. Check the pads after each session and carry a spare set.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato lists AGPA97 for the TRACER 900 from 2015 to 2024. The Tracer 900 has two front calipers, so two boxes are needed. At the rear, Accossato lists AGPP88.
Road Approval
There is no ABE for AGPA97EV2, and we have no test documents; it is for racing and closed tracks only.
Scope of Delivery
Two EV2 racing AGPA97 front pads, enough for one caliper of the Tracer 900.
