DescriptionThe whole story▼
Accossato front pad AGPA97 is used on many Yamaha models, from supersports to tourers, so its EV2 racing compound also appears in the list for the Tracer 7 from 2016 to 2026. On a sports tourer, a pure racing pad is a specialist choice. It makes sense for an owner who has turned a Tracer 7 into a dedicated track machine and who needs a compound built for repeated heavy stops.
Key Features
- AGPA97 front pad in EV2 racing compound
- Accossato lists it for the Yamaha Tracer 7, 2016-2026
- Accossato calls EV2 a top racing compound
- For repeated hard stops in timed sessions
- A specialist choice for a track-prepared Tracer 7
- Two pads per box, one caliper
- Other compounds: OR, ST, EV1, ZXC
Construction and Material Quality
Accossato describes EV2 as a top racing compound. That places it firmly on the circuit, where pads are kept hot and used hard at every braking zone. The company's general claims for its pads, low wear, less fade through controlled heat and strong braking, are passed on as its own statements.
An Honest Word on Fit for Purpose
A race compound is built around race conditions: heat, repeated heavy stops and a warm-up lap before hard use. On a Tracer 7 used for commuting and touring, the brakes seldom see those conditions, so EV2 is not the right choice there. ST or EV1 are much better road compounds. If your Tracer 7 is a track tool, however, EV2 is designed to give consistent braking lap after lap. Warm the pads with a few firm stops on the out-lap. Also bear in mind that a sports tourer's fork and weight differ from a supersport's, so the lever feel with a race compound may take a session or two to get used to. Keep notes, and change only one thing at a time.
Track Routine
After each session, check pad material through the caliper and look for any change in lever feel. Keep brake fluid fresh; heat ages it quickly.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato lists AGPA97 for the Yamaha Tracer 7 from 2016 to 2026. The bike has two front calipers, so order two boxes. Accossato's rear pad for the Tracer 7 is AGPP88, listed for 2016 to 2024.
Road Approval
AGPA97EV2 has no ABE, and we hold no test documents. It is offered for racing and closed-circuit use only.
Scope of Delivery
Two EV2 racing front pads, AGPA97, enough for one caliper of the Tracer 7.
