DescriptionThe whole story▼
For an R1M that has become a race bike, with slicks, tyre warmers and a season of club rounds ahead, Accossato offers front pad AGPA97 in the EV2 racing compound. Accossato lists AGPA97 for the Yamaha R1M from 2015 to 2025. EV2 is designed for repeated heavy braking in competition, where the pads stay hot and the rider depends on the same response at every braking marker.
Key Features
- AGPA97 front pad in EV2 racing compound
- Accossato lists it for the Yamaha R1M 2015-2025
- Called a top racing compound by Accossato
- Made for repeated hard stops in race conditions
- For qualifying, races and timed practice
- Two pads, one caliper
- Also made in OR, ST, EV1 and ZXC
Construction and Material Quality
Accossato calls EV2 a top racing compound. That positions it for competition only, where brakes are worked hard and kept warm. The company's general claims for its pads, including slow wear, less fade because heat build-up is limited and high stopping power, are passed on as its statements; we have not tested them independently.
Race Weekend on an R1M
During a race weekend the R1M's front brakes do most of their work at the end of long straights and into hairpins. EV2 is intended to keep a steady response through practice, qualifying and race. Bring the pads up to temperature on the out-lap and note any change in lever position through the weekend. For track days combined with road riding, EV1 is the more practical compound. A racing R1M also changes character as fuel burns off and tyres wear through a race, so a front brake whose response stays put gives the rider one less variable to think about when the pressure is on in the final laps.
Fluid and Pads
Racing heats fluid quickly, so renew it often during the season and check pad thickness after each session.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato's listing gives AGPA97 for the YZF 1000 R1 M from 2015 to 2025. There are two front calipers on the R1M, so two boxes are needed. Accossato lists AGPP39 for the rear. Change front pads on both calipers together and bed in the new ones before timed laps.
Road Approval
There is no ABE for AGPA97EV2 and we hold no test documents, so the pads are offered for racing and closed tracks.
Scope of Delivery
One box containing two EV2 racing AGPA97 pads, sufficient for one front caliper.
