DescriptionThe whole story▼
Take the cage and the lights off an MT-07 Moto Cage and what remains is an MT-07 chassis, which some owners convert for circuit use. For a Moto Cage from 2015 to 2017 that has gone down that path, Accossato lists the AGPA97EV2, a front pad in the EV2 racing compound. It is a component for a bike that spends its time between the paddock and the track, where every session is timed and the front brake is asked for the same maximum effort at the same marker every lap.
Key Features
- Front pads for the Yamaha MT-07 Moto Cage, 2015 to 2017
- Article AGPA97EV2, Accossato's EV2 racing compound
- Accossato describes EV2 as a top racing compound
- For track-converted bikes, timed sessions and races
- Two pads in the box, one set for one front caliper
- Two calipers on the front: order two boxes
- Shape also offered in OR, ST, EV1 and ZXC
- No German ABE available; circuit and competition use only
Construction and Material Quality
Accossato's EV2 is a dedicated racing material. The company's summary is a single line: a top racing compound. It is pressed onto the AGPA97 backing, so fitting on the Moto Cage follows the usual routine. As with the rest of the range, Accossato's design goals are reduced heat build-up, less fade and strong braking force, which matter most when the pads are working at race intensity.
A Converted Moto Cage in the Paddock
Turning a road bike into a track machine involves more than new pads, and brakes are usually one of the first areas owners address. On a converted Moto Cage, the front pads will face repeated high-speed stops with only short cooling periods. The EV2 compound is designed for that. Bring a small kit to the circuit: spare pads, tools to remove the calipers, cleaning spray and fresh fluid. Between sessions, check pad thickness, look for uneven wear that could point to a sticking piston, and make sure the lever position still suits the rider. Many circuits run noise and technical checks, so confirm the brake lines, fittings and caliper bolts are secure before scrutineering.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato lists the AGPA97 for the front of the Yamaha MT-07 Moto Cage across 2015 to 2017, with the AGPP88 for the rear. The front has two calipers, so you need two boxes, and both sides should be renewed together. Clean the pistons before retracting them, inspect the discs, and bleed with fresh fluid ahead of a meeting. Accossato does not list discs for the Moto Cage. Bed the pads in during the first session before pushing hard.
Road Approval
No German ABE and no test certificate for this pad are available to us. The AGPA97EV2 is therefore offered only for competition and circuit use.
Scope of Delivery
