DescriptionThe whole story▼

AGPA177EV2 is the racing version of Accossato's front pad for the Triumph Tiger 1200 XR, listed for 2018 and 2019. The EV2 racing compound is designed for competition: timed practice, qualifying and races where the brake is used at full force into every corner. On a big adventure tourer this is a specialist choice, meant only for an XR used on closed courses. For road riding and touring, the Sintered version of this pad is the appropriate option.

Key Features

  • Front pads AGPA177 for the Triumph Tiger 1200 XR, 2018 and 2019
  • EV2 racing compound, SKU AGPA177EV2
  • Accossato describes it as a top racing compound
  • Made for repeated hard stops at race pace
  • For timed practice and qualifying
  • Intended for closed-course use only
  • Same pad in ST, EV1 and ZXC
  • No test documents; racing use

Construction and Material Quality

Accossato lists EV2 racing among its top competition compounds. It is designed for the heavy, repeated loads of timed sessions rather than the varied, gentler use of the road. Like all Accossato pads, it aims to control heat build-up and to wear evenly over an event, so the brake behaves consistently from the first session to the last.

Timed Practice on an Adventure Bike

A heavy adventure tourer on a closed course places unusual demands on the front brake. Every lap brings several hard stops from speed with a lot of mass to slow, and little time to cool. A racing compound is designed for this. Before the first timed session, bleed the system with fresh fluid, check the discs for wear and bed in the new pads on a warm-up lap. Between sessions, check lever travel and pad wear, and note any change.

Pit Lane Routine

Keep a spare set of pads in the box, clean the pistons before pushing them back and allow the brakes to cool on the in lap. Write down lever feel after each run; small changes are easier to spot with a record.

Fitment and Compatibility

Accossato lists AGPA177 for the front brake of the Tiger 1200 XR for 2018 and 2019, and AGPA76 for the rear. A box contains one set for one caliper; check your XR's front brake layout before ordering. Change pads per axle and pump the lever until firm before leaving the pit lane.

Road Approval

AGPA177EV2 has no German ABE and no test mark in our documents. It is intended for racing.

Scope of Delivery

Two EV2 racing front pads for a single caliper.
